Can't blame officials today, we were bloody dreadful and deserved what we got from the game...nothing,,
Ok., dubious first goal, another penalty shout, don’t count, because we were awful? And of course you don’t even acknowledge the less than level playing field that we competed against today.
I'll state emphatically now I am one that wants NP to succeed but he knew the problems were stacked against him whan he agreed his contract, he had 3 months in charge before he accepted the mantle, he got rid of the dirty dozen, along side Gould he has reconstructed most of the internal structures to his liking, the commercial and financial foundations are progressing into reasonable stability, the playing side is going nowhere, home performances have improved but City's away record now stands at one win in their last 14, that is disgusting, feeble and you can't keep blaming officialdom, the squad or the Pandemic, it down to the manager, LJ, MA & DH have long departed, NP has been at the tiller for 15 months, he had Covid sure but our points and position are still no better now than when he took over, the buck stops with him, quite rightly. He must be given time and financial support through the next transfer window to guide and change things drastically to his style and direction, bump all the crap players out even if it costs, bring in some quality, experience and on field leadership ( just a figure, raise your eyebrows but at least 6 minimum are needed) if we are still in the same precarious position come mid October, his time is up but at least he would have had had the backing. I know we are in a difficult world, times are hard and it is easy for me to spout but if we keep choosing the cheap option and blaming historical decisions we won't progress, I would love to see Jon Lansdown in charge of the Basketball team and SL resume the chair for the next 2 seasons.
Don't think I've read anywhere on this forum that they want NP to fail. But IMO we are no better in the time he's been here, you think it's much more entertaining...is it? IMO it's as frustrating as it's ever been. You say that the next transfer window is key.......I will wait and judge come October......but I'm not holding my breath....I truly hope I'm wrong.....But I'm blowing off the dust of the "out" banners in case!!!
I have always said in over 60 years there has not been a BCFC manager who was sacked who didn’t deserve it and Pearson is no different and couldn’t complain if he was sacked, but again I will ask the question who could make this bunch consistent? And I am also sure SL will repeat the history that he created on at least 3 I occasions and give the job to the assistant and we will end up with Fleming.
Less than level playing field Non league Boreham Wood did a job against them compared to us who looked like a bunch of strangers......But that don't count hey ho, you're right again!!...Sorry, no excuses...that was $hit.
One game FFS, your talking absolute nonsense and most people on here can see it, Bournemouth consistently break the FFP rules and on an industrial scale but apparently that’s ok, maybe that is the problem? SL should just say **** the rules and do the same as Bournemouth, trouble is we would get done by the corrupt EFL. PS. They got Solanke and we have Wells and that is just for starters, they have Cantwell on the bench and we got Vyner.
It's not about a one off game for us though is it? , it's the majority of the season.......maybe you've been happy.... FFP is an excuse FFS, we were sh!t and to be honest, if we'd had any organisation today, we could have given them a game...IMO they were good, but not that good.....as most teams we've played this season, we make them look a whole lot better..
jiffie, 2 points, I do agree 3 managers have tried and failed with most of the squad we have, I do believe the policy of academy youngsters, young players like Atkinson and Tanner, plus a few of the older stalwarts ( should not be tarred with the "useless squad" as you titled them) are honest players with the interests of our club at heart, point 2 we do have an inherent problem with SL, great financial businessman but powerful mistakes made on footballing decisions but he did employ NP, a positive in my opinion if given the necessary support.
crowd of less than 10,000 away seats sold out capacity about 11,400 they cant get a lot of gate money? .... so Parachutes keep them alive .. ?
I don’t think it was a penalty. If that would of been given against us I would have been fuming. We’ve become namby pamby’s to VAR.
Like I've said before we watch different games...Your perception of giving them a game is different to mine....we looked 3 leagues apart IMO. It showed IMO that NP's tactics are wrong, as soon as we threw Weimann up front he scored...but hey, he knows what he's doing...
We were so far off the pace at all levels today and yet came away with a fairly even game based on the scoreline. The truth is that we didn't look like we should be on the same park as Bournemouth yet alone in the same division but sadly I'm really starting to fume at the difference afforded teams with a parachute and those like us who get no leeway at all. It really does look like if you haven't been there then why bother to try is the mantra from the league officials and until some kind of levelling up process is instigated then we are basically forced to break the FFP rules and hope we don't get caught and get points deducted which could be the end of football for some clubs.
How can FFP be an excuse? just ask any Wigan or Derby fan, especially when FFP is supported by parachute payments. We now know only 5 teams in the championship last season had a higher wage bill than us and 3 of them ended up being promoted. https://www.thesportsman.com/articl...s-the-growing-problem-with-parachute-payments
I agree with most of this and the only real positive this season has been the emergence of young players. At the beginning of the season I could not see 1 player in our squad worthy of an incoming fee, now we have 3 whose combined fees could wipe our debt out, albeit to late to satisfy FFP. As for the great financial businessman quote, obviously in his working life but allowing Ashton, little Jon and LJ rack up the 6th highest wage bill in the championship is shocking and has left us with still too many overpaid average players, the signing of these players can be called footballing mistakes but the wages to entice them is complete and utter folly.
