There's a massive amount between the top sides and the bottom ones. The gap isn't as wide as the PL, but the gap is certainly widening compared to the championship 5/10 years ago
Suicide!! ****ing hell it’s a game of football As dj keeps saying Acun said He’d rather lose 4-3 It c was bore fest Same as West Brom were we just accepted our fate Why we making so many excuses for Shota and Acun Look at the facts Shota was watching our squad all season long surely he knew what needed changing? If he didn’t it’s worrying. Did he go to acun? Did he say **** that I’m spending next to fuxk all till the summer? Did he identify surely his style of play whatever the **** it is wasnt suitable for the players we have? Mind I think this is bollcks and players can be coached as it’s minor adjustments that can make a big difference. The home record speaks for itself It’s terrible: Why not throw caution it the wind they’re a top four side currently Go for it Put two up top Just do summat instead of the same ****jng thing all the time
Nobody's hammering anybody and who's talking about suddenly becoming a top half side? What did I expect? Certainly not that we would become a worse side. Don't forget Shota came in on the back of McCann's three consecutive victories, without which we'd probably be going down.
We aren't a worse side. There's been good spells of this season we were completely abject under McCann. It was 2 wins, not 3 btw. Those back to back victories had an awful lot to do with the new takeover bounce. And that Bournemouth game was a complete smash and grab, we should have been well out the game by the time Longman popped up with the winner. We actually played worse in that Bournemouth game than we did against Fulham, Sheff Utd or QPR.
We all see it different. I just don’t think we have enough quality in certain areas. You can watch a side for weeks on end but it’s not until you get in the training pitch that you fully appreciate what can or cannot be achieved and even then individual mistakes or bad habits can and has created a few games to forget . The players look up for it most weeks but when we do have the ball it’s the final third where we are lacking and to compound matters we don’t bounce back well from going behind. Going a goal up can work wonders for a player but when you don’t score many like us it’s only a matter of time before the opposition score at least once at this level . Like I suggested next season is massive for everyone at the club including the manager and the Big Turk himself who has said all the right things the fans wanted to hear but now has to back up his own statements with intent.
Pleased we have the points in the bag and i think there would have been plenty moaning on here if it had been no wins from first six home games at the start of the season. Fortunately it isn’t ,although another four points probably needed which we should get with six games to go. Our away form has been decent but going week after week at home and not seeing a point on the board and just one goal in that period when you are trying to entice fans back is making hard work. I’d be there if we didn’t win a game all season but many won’t but hopefully next season there will be a few brought in. Shota has added a few this season which as made no difference. I will give him into next season , it’s still early days yet but hope he spends his money wisely.
We spent most of this season under McCann in the relegation zone. Most of you couldn’t wait to get rid until the takeover was announced and the feel good factor fed into the squad. McCann is to be commended for getting us out of trouble, but to suggest that a manager who has been in the job less than 2 months should already be packing his bags is just people’s expectations going haywire. The performance last night, by and large, was poor. The performances this season, by and large, have been poor. This is a squad filled with players that excel in League 1 but aren’t consistent enough to play in the Championship every week, so nearly every game feels like an FA Cup game against a bigger team. We have picked up 12 points from 13 games. Not very good, but so far it’s enough. We need another win and a couple of draws and that’ll be that. Yep, it’ll be boring as we go into May. But, don’t forget, the season starts early doors in Summer, so there’ll be a quick turnaround. We came into this season with a massive disadvantage already to other teams in having an embargo and tiny wage bill. We aren’t the “City in the Championship” that we were before, this is still League One City playing a level above. There will be a significant overhaul in the Summer, count on it, but until then we literally need to limp over the line. If that means 0-0 draws, the odd 1-0 win and a few hammerings, so be it.
Blackpool playing 4-4-****ing2 today Couple of our cast offs playing Conference Center half getting rave reviews Team of lower league journeymen 11 points better than us he’s getting a tune out of them tho isn’t he
That's what I thought at first, but if you watch the replay he swipes at him with his left foot. Brainless.
I find it just a bit weird that some on here seem reluctant to criticise the manager after a record breaking SIX consecutive home defeats, scoring one (meaningless) goal. Have we become that cowed since the last relegation debacle? You'd never know that we'd spent 5 of the last 14 years in the Premier League.
That's true (the bit in bold), but totally irrelevant to our current situation. It's a fair point that we should remember what is possible, but the fact is, thanks to the Allams, we are nothing like the club we were back in those days.
It's not a great record, but he's been in the job two months. He's trying to play a system that requires better players. I think our right side would look a hell of a lot better with Emmanuel at WB instead of Longman. When he's had the same amount of time as Grant McCann did in the Championship, then I think it's fair to compare the two.
I’d still like to see Shota change the system, instead of 1 lone striker up front! Is Forss or Al any good? We don’t know, because they just get stuck up front on their own, either with 11 or 10 men. We don’t have anything to lose at the moment, as we’re losing the games anyway, just change it to 2 up front, change the personnel, do something different! For all those who are going to say the bollocks about, the players can’t play any differently, that’s utter crap! Maybe if Shota had been working on something during his time in the International break, instead of running up to Scotland to mess about in a Rangers old timers game, he might have come up with some ideas! I think he’s got until September, maybe October to sort something out, but Acun better have a better back up plan to replace him, than he had to replace McCann!
