It’s not a lack of effort and we competed which we have done over the last six home games but points none from eighteen, awful record

Signings for the sake of it, especially in the case of Forss and Walsh.

1 goal in 6 home games isn't my definition of attacking football

4 from 6 is all it’ll take I reckon. That would mean Reading need 12 from 8 and Barnsley 17 from 8.

It's a bloody bad and disappointing run of home form.

Anyway it's my daughter's wedding on Sunday at Kew Gardens. Not even football can spoil that.

I think that should be the last we hear of any talk of extending Eaves' contract. From day one he's been unable to stop fouling people and it's always hampered his game. He clearly can't sort it out and I just don't see how he can ever be a useful player for us when that's the case. Proper new strikers needed in the summer.

The one thing that annoys me the most is when he just gives up when the defender gets into a bit of a tussle with him. The times he doesn’t I can see why he feels unfairly treated but the number of times he just gave up and looked at the ref was infuriating

    Frustrating innit.

I see those with the most to say ‘couldn’t make it’ again tonight…

Obviously waiting for another 2 quid day ticket.

    Allam’s GONE.

Would you trust this manager with a war chest? Big decision for the owner.

Yeah, and sometimes he starts the tussle by trying to throw his weight around but even after a scrap still ends up nowhere near the ball by the time it comes down. He's got the raw attributes; finishing, power and he's not as slow as people think, but his mental game is just way short of that of a serious player at this level.

Investment is needed but it doesn’t necessarily need to be a war chest. We want to be up there but we don’t need to be gambling the potential to build on it in following years should we fall short. Hudds finished 20th last season with their current manager and haven’t had a “warchest” to spend. It needs to be done properly and smartly so that the style he’ll implement will get the most out of the players. He wants to play attractive possession football therefore we should be signing players who are already doing so at their respective teams.

We need our own Gustavo Hamer in midfield. Even though we beat Coventry at their ground, he looked head and shoulders above any of our current midfielders. He’s got the energy of Docherty but can also pass and create things. Just shows you how poor Docherty is at this level when his only positive attribute is ‘can run around a lot for 90 minutes’. We need midfielders who can graft and are actually technically gifted. It’s not either/or; Hamer is a prime example of one.
