Some parts of the NHS are in a dire state as we saw re Shrewsbury Maternity this week. It's a postcode lottery. When my mum broke her hip (she was 91 at the time) I told the ambulance to take her to Guildford which is cutting edge, and not to Chichester which is Third World. She had no complaints.

It's not all down to money. A lot of it is poor leadership at the helm of different hospitals.

Something stinks when you can beg, borrow and steal billions to keep people in their homes for two years, but can’t help those on the breadline choose between heating & eating. If an aggressive form of Covid was still around they’d find the dosh. One moment it’s “let’s cut the deficit” and the next it’s “money no object”.

I don’t believe it’s about money at all, Goldie. Every time there’s a debate about the NHS there’s always somebody trotted out saying it’s about funding. There was a surgeon on the crystal set saying that today.

Nope because exactly the same could be said about sexuality as some gay people seek professional help and their sexuality is likely to be mentioned. So it can’t be that.

You know you have a ****, duplicitous and untrustworthy PM when a traditional conservative (yer actual Uber) finds lots of common ground with those on here on the traditional Left.

Re Shrewsbury: I heard this week that one of the mothers gave birth to twins at the hospital in question. Because of their resolute policy to avoid Caesarean section at all costs, one of the twins died and the surviving child has brain damage. Hospital staff apparently whisked away the first infant, failed to save its life, then plonked the dead newborn into its mother’s arms without even explaining the infant had passed. At a moment of expected joy at a new life, the mother finds out her child has died in that way.

    Absolutely inhuman.

Sadly it’s not just him, there’s a few more you could add to that list, Mogg at the top. I actually think Sunak doesn’t seem to be that bad, his popularity was on the up and he’s been put into the spotlight as a sacrificial lamb and the press, to me seem to be doing a character assassination. Could he be the right man to lead? Possibly, do those who pull the strings want him.. I don’t think so, probably not corrupt enough.

If you didn’t pay Uber, you would miss the opportunity of me turning up at your door, drinking coffee and stuffing my face full of cake…looking on the outside like I was professional and knew what I was doing…while in the inside not having a ****ing clue what you were talking about and having to have a sneaky peek at google…..too many long words in medicine for my liking

Nope. Not a fan of Vulcan Sunak. His popularity is solely off the back of spending my money on other people before I’ve earned it. I’ve done this gag before, but if that alone qualifies somebody for High Office then you may as well make my ex-wife PM.

It’s a decent joke so worth repeating, but anyone thrust into that position would have done similar. At least you’re forming your opinions on stuff he’s done, and in your eyes stuff he’s done wrong. Way too many seem to let the press and social media form their opinions. Granted we are all guilty of that to an extent, but it’s hit a whole new level in recent times.

Every time you see a trans story being thrust into the forefront just remember 99% of them are nonsense that aren’t supported in the lgbtq community.. and take a minute to think is there something going on, usually a bit iffy or incompetent that is being pushed aside for this supposed trans outrage.. the answer every single time will be yes.

Not quite Utilities, but the Scottish Government has just re-Nationalised the railway operator up here...

ScotRail is back in public ownership for the first time in 25 years.

The train operator will now be run by a company owned by the Scottish government.

The previous operator, Abellio, had its franchise ended early amid criticism of the quality of the service.

The UK's rail network was privatised in the 90s by John Major's Conservative government. Before Abellio, ScotRail was run by National Express and First Group.

Free thinking is very important, as is the old Keynesian adage of “when the facts change…”

I had a very good mentor during my early career who would disparage certain managers for “only having read one book”. Its important to read stuff from another perspective as the truth generally lies somewhere between the two positions, although not necessarily right in the middle.
