I am in complete agreement with you, people forget, LJ was sacked by MA and the Lansdowns, no disrespect to the man but they put Holden in charge, nothing changed MA, his crew, Junior Lansdown and Holden ran the club internally and externally, Holden was then fired, Nige came in, inherited the **** show, MA and his crew deserted, the rest is history.

Absolutely two more months and we would have been relegated as it was. Yet people think NP can click his fingers and all will be merry-It is a monster job and will take time the club was run by jokers previously.
We have a guy that says it as it is -he knows what he has got it will take time.

I get the concept, but if all those 'rotten apples' have long since gone, then Nige should be free to chart his own course. A lot of the squad he inherited had been top 10/12 for the previous 2-3 seasons, so why has it taken him so long to turn around what was only 6 months of Holden's work?

There was a sequence of events, LJ was failing for what ever circumstances, he was sacked, Holden inherited the squad, he was the cheap, inexperienced option, he also was sacked for failure, Nige then had a three month temporary contract, avoided relegation and was given a 3 year contract 29th April, LJ left without a win in 9 games, DH left after 6 defeats in a row Nige had a 3 month trial period, all playing with virtually the same squad of top 10/12 position quality players as you described, 3 managers, covering roughly 15 months ( Last 3 months of LJ/ 2 months interviewing/ 7 months of DH/ 3 months Nige) what a disaster.

No insults but we had a bunch of over paid, contract seeking, arrogant prima donnas ,time wasters and con men, they had us over a barrel, a health, fitness and coaching department that was ineffective, all culminated in letting down our last 3 managers and the club, then came the pandemic, complete loss of income and our current financial plight, if Steve Lansdown hadn't supported our club with his own personal wealth god knows where we would have ended up.

I do agree with the concept that Nige was offered a 3 year contract, we are as a club in a better position now than we were but Nige has had a year, our prospects must improve, at the moment we are at times dismal, he needs full support for this coming transfer window, time given for a solid start to the 2022/23 season, if by October we are still in the doldrums with no improvement, time for him to move on as your time bracket suggested I think.

Easy group for Canada Eh? England should walk their group and go on to win the whole thing.

How cruel was Covid ... 3 month break, lost 4 after a 3 month break ... DH takes over same players still no crowds but ekes out 8 pts from 15 and gets to keep the job!
When I look back at the end of DH 's reign a run of 6 losses, maybe he was due for the bullet... but team had performed well [ ish ] showed they were above average with a couple of away wins, I think just how LUCKY WE WERE TO AVOID RELEGATION. It was simply down to the poor results of other clubs that allowed us to escape! 6 pts from 39 should have been playing for the tin pot cup again!!!!
History is showing us NP 's reign at the present is a damp squib [ worse than previous 2 managers ] .. once again we are very lucky to have teams with points deducted or not showing anything like championship quality [ well less quality than us ] 2pts ahead Derby?! 2pts ahead Reading and bottom 3 should be Hull 41 pts / Barnsley 28pts/ Peterbro 26pts putting us points gained just 3 above relegation zone lucky Hull lost today or they would be above us!
I just hope HE CHANGES HIS MANTLE .... and gets his act together Enjoyed the last top flight football period we had so long along fading into the past ....... will I ever see top flight again? if I was 30 years younger might have a chance!

They were on a relegation course when LJ and DH were running the show.

And that stopped when NP took over?? NP would kill to be in a league position to where we were when LJ left... This progress we are currently in is astonishing :emoticon-0105-wink:

My position hasn't changed. I expected more from NP, but I'm holding back from calling for his head - I'm cutting him slack because of the unprecedented Covid situation that has massively hit the finances of ALL clubs - including ours. From me he gets a 'D - should do better'.
I can't see anything improving next season to be honest - there will be 3 new teams with parachute payments to contend with, some others, like WBA still have some of theirs left over, and the rest of us will be fighting for scraps.
With inflation rampaging I can see attendances dropping too as people won’t be able to afford to go to the football.
Sorry to be doom and gloom but right now I can’t see anything positive on the horizon.

Prior to this campaign, City had improved their league position in each season under Johnson, finishing eighth in 2018-19 having gone into the final day with an outside chance of reaching the play-offs.

They looked well set to challenge again this term and were three points off the top two after beating Derby County on 12 February, but a nine-game winless run - including seven defeats - either side of the coronavirus hiatus means they are now set for a mid-table finish

So, nowhere near relegation form as you claimed then! DH was taking us down, no doubt, and had it not been for points deductions for 2 teams, NP would have us in a relegation dogfight right now as well, and you reckon we are better off....!

    Nor mine.

I didn't with the squad he inherited and pittance, because of Covid and the financial constraint you mention, that he's been allowed to spend.

    Spot on.
Unless fairness comes to the EFL I can't see it improving - ever.
