It's going to take place on the Saturday evening!!!! So early Sunday morning for Europe. That's a bit different!
I bet there would be some great views from some of the hotel rooms!
Track does look less than impressive in layout but I'm sure will look impressive on TV, good racing, I hope so!

I am sure there are a few on here who have visited Las Vegas. I did, but it was not somewhere I wanted to return too. The streets don't easily lend themselves to an interesting street circuit.
What a sad fake place it is.
I enjoyed Zion National Park though.

What I can recall about driving the strip in Vegas is a lot of empty lots north of say circus circus and an absolutely god awful road surface.

I think it'll be a very boring zip round with few corners and a lot of fancy lighting of casinos.

I went out to hoover dam in the day and drove back to mgm and drove the strip with the top down.

Bloody annoying that we're going to Vegas when there are tracks like Laguna Seca, Road America and Barber that could be used.

Getting a bit bored of races at night with a backdrop.

If it's Sunday morning in Europe, it's going to be a midnightish here. Even later on the east coast.

Plenty of places for a lunatic gunman to shoot from.

Especially if someone runs a Ferrari off-track, eh Bhaji? :D

On Hamilton's recent social media post regarding mental health. I'd always wondered if he struggled, His comments during the initial covid lockdown and now this confirm what I have believed for some time. The social anxiety that he shows at times is something very familiar to me also, and something I can see.

It's good he's talking about these issues openly, if only briefly. It's an important step in dealing with the many ways that our brains can screw with us. As a sufferer of anxiety and depression, and having survived some extremely dark times, I'm grateful for his honesty and showing that these things can, and many cases will affect many of us, and that it's okay to be open about it.

The best thing about my trip, other than the Zion National Park was the chance to meet Condoleezza Rice, interesting lady. But Yes I did the tour of the strip and a few other things.

Knowing who you are, warts and all, is the start of accepting yourself and then understanding what you bring to others that is positive. Realising everyone has pluses and minuses and many will only see or focus on your pluses. <cheers>

I'm in, it would be an investment. But reckon it will sell for more than 3m.

I did look at this... But the insurance bracket it just insane!

Thought I could happily stick it in the garage to roll out ever Sunday to polish.

    Shame there's no RS4 in it. :(

    I'll take the 640 though. :)

This video shows the bouncing quite nicely <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Merc need to have a look at it to understand where they are going wrong <laugh> Sorry to all the Merc engineers I am sure you are working flat out to cure the issue, no disrespect intended.

It very obviously has an impact on the stability of the car. Unconvinced a new floor on its own will resolve this, one of several measures needed perhaps so I am expecting more than just a new floor from Merc this weekend.
Now, does a spoon and hairdryer count as time in the wind tunnel? <laugh>

I read with some interest that newey saw this issue early in design and as a result the redbull has a much heavier and stiffer floor but it is 10kg heavier than the ferrari.

In theory merc need to make the floor stiffer which means more material which means more weight.

If its that simple surely everyone could do it????

My question is where can they shave weight off the car to compensate as teams?

I read that Alfa were slightly annoyed that the stays were allowed as they too made the floor very stiff and are heavy due to that! They are now working on a thinner lighter floor with stays!!

It does seem rather a fudge to help out one or two teams (ferrari for example) while punishing teams to saw it coming.

I would presume its just as possible to lighten a stiff floor and put in a stay and stay low to ground than to try to barley do enough to get stiff enough to get down in ride height?

This quote from Nigel Mansell, when talking about his WDC achievement, made me laugh.

"It’s the flash of adrenaline where everything stands still. When something means so much to you, and you think you’ve actually done it and achieved it, and you’ve spent 40 years of your life attaining that – basically what happens, I think your brain upsurges to the point that your brain fuses. So when it fuses, there’s emptiness – because you can’t compute anything!"

I think he has confused the latest fusion technology with his brain processes.
