It’s hardly a backlash to say that he shouldn’t be doing it. Nobody has asked for the kid to be strung up for it, just that he shouldn’t be doing it.

His parents have a responsibility to stop that happening. Otherwise, without consequence, he can go to his mates and say “oh I just ran on and got a selfie and nothing really happened”, which then encourages others.

Bottom line, I give far more of a **** about our club being fined and potentially sanctioned than some random kid getting on the pitch. And if the latter contributes to the former, then you can **** that sky high.

I’m frightened to ask, but how on earth did you get to sexual assault from a common behavioural trope?

Either you’re being obtuse because you’re a smug, awkward **** or you’re oblivious to the connotations “boys will be boys” has. I didn’t mention the gender of the kid at all, could’ve been a young lass from where I was sitting. I said kids misbehave and push boundaries, nothing to do with “boys will be boys”; you said that.

I have literally never heard of the phrase “boys will be boys” used in sexual terminology. As a teacher you’d think they’d have mentioned it.

The phrase was used verbatim when I did my safeguarding training on peer-on-peer sexual abuse. You might not have heard it; I did. Don’t know what else to say about it.

Boys will be boys - Used to express the view that mischievous or childish behaviour is typical of boys or young men and should not cause surprise when it occurs.

I can’t excuse what I haven’t heard, so I don’t know where to go from here either. It very well might be, and if you’ve had training and it was there I’ll take your word for it, but it’s definitely a new one on me.

I thought it was an Ordinary Boys song.
This is where Quill would be handy.

Apologies if I jumped the gun a bit then too. Maybe it’s a generational thing but “boys will be boys” to me has connotations of bad behaviour that is more serious than ‘mischievous’ and was explicitly mentioned in my safeguarding training when I worked in a sixth form.

You should have, then you’d have found the commonly understood meaning of the phrase. <ok>

Can tell how many people on here don't stand in E1 or 2, because there's plenty of ****ish behaviour there every game. Or maybe you ****s are all there, and that's why...
