That's the problem isn't it. You'll not find a single person here who thinks the tories are any good, but then they look at the panic in Labour's eyes when they're asked about Palestine or whether a woman has a vagina or not and wonder whether they're just a different texture of ****e.

Until they stop shooting themselves in the foot they'll never win an election. Most normal people simply will not vote for what look like crackpots obsessed with fringe issues. The tories' vote barely goes up or down from election to election, it's how many votes Labour gets that decides it.

Spot on <ok> The working class voter has little in common with the campus politics of the current Labour party. Until they recognise and address the concerns of their core vote they will never be successful in a GE

Yes, the ignorance of the electorate may explain why we're in this mess ...

They said we’d be better off. They lied to win so they would gain.

Another way of saying what you just said is that Brexit was a failed risk and made us less resilient to challenges. The war stuff happens , Covid of course was nuts but throwing billions into the toilet on masks for mates and fraud amplified it horrifically. Like I said I could have lived with some leave deals, theirs was dreadful. Pure ideology and as always it lands on the heads of the poorest.

I’d suggest it could be tbh.not necessarily those numbers. In this vulnerable economic situation with a weak government and economy and record inflation if people stop spending, jobs plummet, houses dip. It’s very possible and no furlough.

I mostly agree with this I think Starmers trying to professionalise it a bit . Boris isn’t. However if the ****show of Boris is electable so are these. You would add some concerns over people and ethics at least which would be a step in the right direction but if I’m honest neither electable party would change enough for me. I’ve never had any inclination to vote conservative mind. I just don’t share their elitist top down vision for society but this lot especially are worth investing energy in ejecting asap. They’re dangerously anti democratic.

To a certain extent, i go along with the "plague on both their houses" sentiment.

However, the lesser of two evils argument...

Even though Biden is a bit into his dotage, he has to be better than Trump!

Even though I have my some doubts about Starmer, he has to be better than Bonko!

Hardly overwhelming endorsements but we can only choose from the options presented.

If the Prime Minister of this country is permitted to lie to Parliament, and therefore the public, then democracy is lost.
