Lump all the negative ones together it all blurs together in the end. Unless its negativity towards 9 goals in 8 games Chris Wood...
TBF I do feel like a grumpy old man a lot of the times in this overly sensitive world. I'd watch Newcastle play Cambridge if it was in a competition as I'm a Newcastle fan first and foremost. In a friendly, no. Not been to a friendly match for donkeys years. Why? Not interested. The reference to England and third rate football countries was a reference to friendlies as opposed to tournament or qualifying games. If I won't watch Newcastle in a friendly then I definitely won't be watching England in a pointless friendly. So not suggesting anything about divine rights etc.so I suppose that takes out your entire second paragraph. The reason I'm moaning about it is that the powers that are have decreed that not only is it corn beef on Saturday but I can't have my steak. If it was optional then I wouldn't moan. Don't really think it is a North/South divide issue. Totally irrelevant to me as I've lived down south and have friends down south and I know how much better off we are and is one of the reasons I didn't stay down south. Also very proud of the Union and would hate to see it break up. But I still want steak every Saturday and not corn beef. Magkiltie might be upset that you've ignored him completely as I wasn't the one to make the Wrestlemania comment.
You must as a football fan though appreciate why friendlies are needed though, even if you don't want to watch them?
I was just going to point this out mate. Okay so my point being this.......with regards other events. FIFA and to a very slight degree less, UEFA will make out the World Cup and the EURO's are the biggest and greatest sporting events in history. They will whore their arses out the window and award countries the World Cup and Euro's on whoever promises them the most wedge. The best seats and majority of seats are taking by about 5 companies. Those being Addidas, Coca-Cola, VISA, Qatar Airways and Hyundai. To make it more "American" and more of a spectacle to appease the broadcasters we have seeded teams in the qualifiers and the early rounds. Its bollox, it's not sport, its semi-fixed bullshit to ensure the big name players are more likely to be in the latter rounds than the likes of the smaller developing countries. The African countries are hamstrung from the off to the point that to even it up Bono and Geldof should be the only singers allowed on a pitch prior to the tournament to even the scores a bit. Who gives a flying **** about watching Qatar Vs Iran? If they want it to be sporting - straight ****ing cup draw, no seeded teams and just let every ****ing team in it. If the big teams get turfed out after one game - tough ****. As for spectacle - name one memorable pre match moment from an opening game other than Dianna Ross missing a penalty. They are utterly forgettable. And whilst I'm on my high horse saying as the interfere with the people who pay the wages - The countries should have to pay the clubs a release fee for the tournaments, the players wages the entire time they are away and the players wages whilst recovering from any injuries they incur.
Yes but they don't have to cancel my steak on Saturday to play them. Used to work fine on Wednesday's back in the 1960's when England actually won a tournament.
Unfortunately things have changed a little in the last 60 years The CL only had 16 teams and 4 round of matches at that point. Cut back on the red meat it's not good for your heart, have a salad once every couple of months or if you don't want a salad go for a walk.
I have a salad with my steak. I always have fried onions and peas along with my chips.. Absolutely delicious. And I walk every day. After all the you can't park the car inside the house, can you!!
No. Nev is trying to break the world record for the longest ever suspensful drum roll, following his "And the winner is..." announcement.
Don't start your southern ways here matey !!! Brown sauce on chips. None of this fancy malarkey of red or mustard !!!
