I have just logged on to my laptop and it is just a black screen. The cursor is there and I can move it around but there is nothing else and I can't switch it off or **** all. Apart from the obvious solutions such as taking it to a shop/downloading McAfee/deleting system 32 etc, how can I fix it? Thanks in advance, besties <ok>

Have you tried turning it off, and then back on again?

    Just use the off button.

It's usually in the top corner.

Try phoning Amazulu and request one of their latest laptops before they throw it on the scrapheap along with all sorts of valuables <ok>

Taking the battery out is quite effective at switching off a laptop.

Think that means don't bring your laptop into the bath with you if plugged in.

I had the same issue I even went into safe mode to factory reset it .

I ended up launching it at the wall and got a new one .

I let the battery run out and then put the cable back into it and switched it back on. This time, very cunningly, instead of logging in and it going to a black screen I went to restart and now it installing 103 updates, it is currently on number 3, so maybe that had something to do with it <ok>.

I have to say guise, as much as you are all my best friends, when I ask my numerous questions on here, very seldom are any of you ever any use, not sure I have ever had a problem solved on here. Fannies.

No, it is an old one from work. I tried safe mode on another laptop years ago and don't think it even worked, I will see if the updates make a difference.
