Wouldn't be surprised if Parrott got a Championship loan...preferably one where he plays this time

Scarlett's reportedly being lined up for a loan next season, presumably in League One - which will at least give him time to work on his own goal celebration, rather than just nick Vinigol's

Think both Scarlett and Devine need loans particularly the latter . It seems Conte wants them in his squad next season though. Just hope they get minutes in Cup games because playing for the U23's and training with the first team isn't enough at this stage for their development in my opinion.

Dan KP (IIRC) said we're planning to keep Devine in the squad next season to speed up him qualifying as HG

Harvey White's the intriguing one, as Conte trusts him enough to be on the bench for games...yet even when we're 3-0 up he doesn't get minutes

I still 100% believe Parrott has a first team future here, he’s clearly got technical ability beyond his age and I just hope that in time we give him chances. Another loan next season may be ideal and then after that assess if he’s ready to step up. He and Scarlett are two of the best striking prospects we’ve had in a long while and could potentially lead our line for many years to come, there’s probably been more hype on them than there was Kane back in the day, albeit I don’t expect either to be anywhere near as good as Kane, nor would they essentially need to be by the time they’re at an age to be starting.

Don’t see futures for Rodon and Bergwijn at the club though. Good players but they’ll unlikely ever be regulars. Bergwijn will never oust Son and Rodon is 6th choice CB at the moment and will drop further if Conte bags another in the summer. Both players will have good careers away from here I think.

This is where, for me, signing Bale as a year-long stop gap makes so much sense.

If Bale had been here this season, I'd like to think Scarlett would be elsewhere developing properly. He's played 3 minutes of PL football this season. Three. And that was when we were 4-0 up against Leeds. It is extremely difficult to reconcile 'academy's most promising talent' with that amount of game time.

Bring Bale in for a year, send Parrott and Scarlett out on thoroughly researched loans (I'd say Championship and League 1 respectively), and in the long run we could save £20-30m of money (probably wasted) bringing in backup for Kane.

The main issue that Parrott and Scarlett face is the speed that a chunk of our fanbase write off prospects when the next one arrives

In Parrott's case this is easy to see, because while MK fans are singing his praises this season he's regularly dismissed as crap by a lot of Spurs fans who have moved all their hopes and expectations onto Scarlett or Etete
This also seems to be happening with Scarlett too, as already he's being looked past and Jamie Donley is having those same hopes and expectations welded onto him

I wouldn’t be surprised if all fanbases have a minority like that, some seem to think if you haven’t burst onto the scene like Rooney did at 16 then you’ll never make it, which just isn’t the case. Took Mason until he was 22-23 to fully break in here and Kane didn’t become a regular til he was 20-21. These players have plenty of time and developing to be done but early signs suggests we’ve got some real talents to look out for.

It *could* be a golden age for our academy soon, I’ve said for a while I’d love to get on Chelsea’s level where if they don’t make it at the club we sell for huge profits and I think we could be somewhat entering that within the next few years so long as we invest time in a number and get them the right loans/ chances.

In terms of following the Chelsea model, whatever happened to the talk of ENIC buying a significant stake in Standard Liege? Having a club we can loan a couple of players to a season to get regular minutes would be ideal, especially for academy players who get regular international minutes but none in our first team such as Parrott or Paskotsi

Harvey White is an interesting one. Technically very good and his set piece delivery is very good but he has such a light weight frame.
Reminds me of James Ward Prowse

Getting back to the pre-Pochettino era (1-2 coming out of
the academy pipeline per season into the senior squad,
one season evaluation - have future or sell on as "zero sum" etc) ,
    would be a start IMHO.

He was at Sevilla for about 10 minutes before they decided not to sign him permanently.
We'll take him on loan if they pay 90% of his wages and don't even think of trying to sign Kane.

Doesn’t solve any of our current problems or the ones we’d have to solve if we sold Kane. Hard no.

    £150m or feck off.
If Martial is included ... £160m

More than anything else, the deal's insulting as Martial would effectively be Son's understudy - and at this point our squad has more left winger's than the Shadow Cabinet

I'm going to assume that White'll be spending some time in the gym this summer

For the obvious comparison, look at Oliver SKipp when he made his first league start against Burnley in late 2018 and compare him to this season, and he's certainly bulked up. Similar can be said about Harry Winks before him, as there's like 30% more of him now compared to when he was making cameos in Europa League games early in Poch's tenure

Yes mate Skipp and Winks were of similar physical stature at White's age.

Quite excited ( without getting carried away) about the crop of youngsters coming through.

    - Lo-Tutala, Muir, Sayer, White, Mathurin, Devine, Scarlett, Parrot.

Problem is we were saying similar five years ago with Edwards, Madueke, Shashoua, Oakley-Boothe, Griffiths...

How we managed to put so many of our academy in a state of limbo beggars belief

So far the ones that left or were sold haven’t gone on to prove the club wrong. Having a couple of decent games in substandard European leagues doesn’t prove anything before anyone starts.

I will criticise the club on many things but I don’t agree with people saying they dropped the ball on the above lot.
