Do you mean, wouldn't it be nice if there were adequate cover in the squad for the mean roles, ie centre forward or DM

    That would mean a ticket cost £200ish, roughly: £200x20 games = £4000pp; £4000x 35000 capacity = £140m

You'll need to grow some more fingers, Ell.

Biggest crowd I've heard announced was 34,600. No idea where this 37k capacity comes from, but we don't have that many seats. We've been a sell-out for over 2 years now & never got close to 35k, far less 37k. Wasn't 37k the number before Bates ripped out a chunk of the ESU to put in more of Jammy's mates?

Btw, just to be deadly accurate, we had zero gate income last season, so by your calculations, that's £135m we didn't have to spend last summer. IMO, it's a miracle we spent anything with that kind of shortfall.

Btw, re.: "37000 tickets. Match programs, food, drink etc" - are you suggesting that the shortfall in your calculations is covered by this? Really? So you've already calculated that each fan spends almost £200 per match, so presumably they each buy £150ish on programs, food & drink? I'd love you to provide an example of someone who donates that much to the club each week. I think you may be a wee bit out of touch - why not come up & see the real Elland Road. Perhaps you're getting muddled with your Football Manager game?

Plenty of cover for both those roles.

CF - Rodrigo, Joffy, Roberts, Greenwood.
    DM - Forshaw, Koch, Strujk.

To lose two England international for almost the entire season is just how football can be at times and until we have unlimited wealth (as some clubs have) we just have to suck it up and get on with things.

But let's stick with your ' total incompetence ' view of things instead shall we.

Plus last time I checked we're not actually relegated yet and so the squad is delivering as intended.

I quoted goal scoring forwards. Rodrigo and Roberts are not goal scoring forwards. Greenwood has had a couple of appearances and Joffy has played the equivalent of 5 full games.

Koch has played only a handful of times at DM. Predominantly, he is a central defender. Forshaw is ranked as our 20th best player.

If you are taking that as being factual evidence of your point, then you also have to accept that one of the squad members that you regularly complain about, especially with regards to the club giving him a new contract when we were in the Championship, is our third best player.

If you look at the historic rating on the same site for the last 3 previous seasons, that same player has ranked 2nd, 4th and 1st, so I am glad to see you finally accept that for the last 4 seasons, Liam Cooper has been a critical member of our team reaching and maintaining their Premier League status, and that his lack of playing time this season has been instrumental to our defensive deficiencies ;)

So for our 19 Premier League home games, using the highest price of £47 per seat, that gives us a yearly income of just over £31 million. So your £130+ million figure you mentioned earlier, would require each person to pay 3 times more than they did for the seat, on programmes, merchandising, drink and pies, every week.

Given that the figure you quoted for season ticket holders of £349, would equate to £18 per game, that would reduce the income of £31million substantially, meaning that every person attending, would probably need to buy two shirts every game, to get anywhere near the figure of £130+ million :)
