You gotta be pack leader. Otherwise your dog is gonna want to be pack leader, and then your authority has gone to ****

Yeah she’s a good dog. Springer x Collie so bright as a button and needs lots of mental stimulation.

Like a bad cliche though, she ****ing hates the postman. Like actually wants him dead. So I have to manage that.

    otherwise soft as a brush

True. Its also a fine line between being pack leader and being a ****.

Chavs see being pack leader as a green light to treat their dog harshly.

mine "cries" when she spots our postwoman and doesn't get a fuss / treat to the extent i've had her sit down and refuse to move until she has attracted the posties attention <laugh>

On the hand when she is on her lead mine would likely try to attack your dog if they met as she really dislikes black dogs particularly Labs for some reason . Off her lead she is ok but still need to be wary near black labs .

Dangerous breeds are banned. Its always on the owner. Not the dog.

They might be banned but they're still loads of them about. Not 100% on the always the owner argument, some dogs simply should not be allowed Pit Bulls for example as all it takes is a trigger and you have a very dangerous animal.

Do a lot of walking in the woods around our way, the amount of dog walkers that lose their dogs as become ridiculous, at least a couple of times a week you hear someone shouting their dog that is nowhere to seen. A few weeks ago a woman asked me if I'd seen 2 spaniels, I said yes, running around by the quarry, which was about 2 miles away. These ****ers have dogs they've spent in excess of 2 grand on and haven't got a clue how to train or control them.

Mandatory lessons and only off the lead of you have complete control. Fines for dogs off the lead that are out of control. It's about time proper rules were put in place.

Like in life innit, the best leaders lead through respect. Those that don’t know how to do it, try to lead through fear.

    My dog says hi btw

    Defo a bad example.

Pit Bulls are great dogs, but they need an owner who understands the breed and who brings them up right.

Until they get triggered by something and then you're in trouble.

Totally agree mate, there are kids out there frightened of dogs, some big **** off labrador or other goes bounding towards them, kids hysterical, owner, 'he won't hurt them'. Years ago we were looking after our neice, boxer bounds over, knocks her straight off her feet, **** just laughed, he wasn't laughing 30 seconds after.

Any dog can get triggered by something. That’s why it’s important to understand the breed and your dog. Obvs a big muscly dog can do more damage than a ****ty little pug, but 100% of the time it comes down to the owner.

Look at it this way, any dog needs love and attention and if brought up right they're not much to worry about. With a Pit Bull of something triggers it and it attacks the attacks trend to be very aggressive and sustained with little chance of fighting it off.

I disagree with the 100% it's very high and yes mostly down to the owner but there are instances where a well looked after dog can turn and this is why Pit Bulls should not be owned as pets.

I agree that they will cause significantly more damage if they attack. But again, this comes down to training. It’s not a coincidence that the majority of ‘dangerous’ dogs are owned by young men who don’t have a clue about dog ownership.
