Bamford is out for the season with a ruptured ligament. Club doctor Rob Price said Bamford has had the injury for 12 months and will be out for at least six weeks.
Story coming out that Orta has met with Deco twice and turned down £29.1m for Raphinha. Barcelona hoping Leeds get relegated as will struggle to pay what Leeds want. There is no release clause in his contract, but the new contract would have one and why Raphinha hasnt signed it. Obvious now that hes going, but stories about Barcelona players in part exchange are crap… why would these players drop to the Championship if we go down. Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea, are also in the hunt so if we stay up Barcelona will not be able to afford him
Just use the surgery up Beeston hill. I went for my hgv medical there once. Basically took about two minutes. If you could stand up unaided and move your limbs plus read a couple of lines on the eye chart you pass.
Afternoon all. Interesting reading everything to catch up this morning. I think our biggest problem under Bielsa was conversion of chances. With a few exceptions we tend to create plenty of opportunities but lacked composure in the final third. The way a player like Coutinho could pick a killer pass would open up even some of the best defences. Pablo had this in the Championship but when we got promoted he was a little older and the game was quicker. There was less space and the defenders were better. The problem we have is that on the rare occasions that someone does hit that killer pass or that perfect through ball we usually fk it up. We fall over our own feet, miscontrol the ball hit the woodwork, or hoof it into row Z. Sometimes, like against Leicester the keeper is MoM! I always wondered if Bielsa's frenetic playing style caused some of the problems. In his system he doesn't really want a player to put a foot on the ball and look up, does he? Our defence has been exposed for most of the year. We're missing a world class MF and I think Cooper is a huge miss also. He's better than he's given credit for. He's consistently rated highly on the stats tables for the PL so I think we miss him.
Blono has some great points and in my humble opinion it comes down to quality of striker. In the Championship Mitrovic was a country mile ahead of Bamford. 63% success rate, 65% accuracy, and many many fewer chances required. Bamford had a mare, Fulham went up and Mitrovic put on weight and struggled dor some reason under Parker. Bamford was scoring in the prem and loving it and this season been missed badly. No Phillips, Bamford, Cooper and an intermittent defence thats not been in their own positions all season but getting sorted now. By the way Mitrovic has scored way over 30 goals this season
