I thought there were some mega money bids being speculated. If so, wouldn't that just help them to get even bigger?

And who actually gets the money for the sale? I don't really get how Abramovich can sell it - surely its his stake up for grabs, but if he's sanctioned he shouldn't be getting any money? Confused.

Sales tactics more than likely.. Putting it out there that the seller is spoiled for choice, but in reality there's maybe one or two offering way below the asking price.

I think they’ll allow the sale but control the funds into a government account. That’ll be a condition of the sale. Still a lot to work out I think.

in terms of the mega money, I doubt it. They won’t be able to bankroll Chelsea. To put it into context, Chelsea’s success was based on effectively borrowing £1.5bn, most likely a lot more was gifted too and some heightened commercial deals via Russian money. I expect their success cost £2bn overall, and that money won’t keep happening. Now they’re in a better place, but the loan system abuse is about to be clamped down as well, so with a tiny ground and a need to actually live within their means - and their global fan base is still relatively weak - they will really struggle to maintain top 6. In short, it’s either sovereign wealth or a hard slog to trophies. They’ve got the immediate issue of losing players for nowt.

I wouldn’t have thought so. Isn’t it obligatory that one of them has a “finger in the pie” before the Government signs a contract?

To alleviate any concerns of potential corruption, the UK Govt have installed Sepp Blatter as a new Member of Parliament so that he can oversea the Chelsea takeover, while ensuring a fair process and appropriate distribution of any funds involved in the club sale.

John Terry is part of a consortium trying to buy 10% of the club and attempt to protect Chelsea's "history and heritage".

He needs lessons from Rio on ownership of a club. If he really ****ing cared surely he’d buy it himself?

I'm sure Mike Ashley could offer him a very favourable loan repayment deal.
