    Both imo.

There's no way they build a car overnight and he is in no fit state.

I think there's nothing on that car left to salvage

Maybe it is time to bite the bullet (dollar/pound/ euro) and withdraw sporting events and Football Club ownership from a bunch global gangsters who as far as human rights and womans rights are concerned have not even reached the dark ages

Before Ukraine I would have preferred to trade with Russia rather than the Middle East but our options are running out fast leaving the good ol USofA and the Far East (China)

If we actually get on with saving the planet through wind tide and solar we don't need any of them.

We do need hydrogen cars not necessarily full electric.

Some of that but think he could have made a few more places. I think he is at an age where he is assessing risk and reward. The race may be different or he doesn't think his season is going to start till they upgrade the car, whenever that may be.

Meanwhile sailing can be exciting, believe it or not. Plenty of stories but the funniest was my neighbour of some years ago. He was a Tory MP and fell overboard in the Round the Island race near the Needles (Isle of Wight). He thought he was going to die, boats are so close in racing, and his life flashed before his eyes, not his wife, nor his children, only that he was letting Margaret Thatcher down.
Years later he became very famous for trying to claim for a Duck House on his expenses !!!
    All True. <laugh><laugh>

P.S he was not sailing with me.

Wind, Tide and Solar won’t save the planet energy wise, only nuclear will.

    Well there is that.

We need offshore wind. Hydro electric, tidal power (reliable) and some form of nuclear (be it fusion or fission)

Onshore wind is really not the way imo.

Imo if we use excess wind etc to pump water for hydroelectric like in snowdonia then imo that's the very best battery possible. The power of potential energy.

The lunacy of the eu trying to claim natural gas as renewable energy only 6 months ago cos Germany wedded itself to Russia has been laid bare.

Possibly...but the way he was talking, he was surprised at his pace Be it setup issue, car issue or mentality issue. Something is up.

Sort of agree but could be our downfall too. Fusion seems to be offering the latest opportunity

Tides are very reliable, driven by the moon. The Alderney tidal race runs at up to 9 knots with the ebb and flow of a spring tide (usually two springs a month) and 4 to 6 knots on a Neap tide. Could probably produce as much energy as the French nuclear power station in sight of it (although not done the math).
But Hydrogen is the way for many other needs but lets not just look at the quick gains, someone needs to look forward 100 to 200 years from now.

Trying to talk my brother-in-law into getting into hydrogen, fuel of the future, fairly sure there's a few buses in london running on it.

I have been wondering for years why hydrogen hasn't become the next fuel source for vehicles at least. Whichever way you slice it, electric cars are predominantly using fossil fuels as their source of power. Combine that with the not so eco friendly batteries they use atm, it hardly seems the solution. But I am no expert on these matters and only offer an option.

I do use this as an excuse for my desire to live with a fuel hungry motor though, so I may be slightly bias.:)

Hydrogen seems like a very gov friendly fuel. We have distrubtion network (petrol stations) and gov can tax it easily. It can be produced via wind power and stored relatively easily. Can't really see a downside!
