Hold up - is that seriously implying the Saudi government would have held them there if they refused to race? That is truly horrifying You’d think no amount of money and prestige in the world would be worth that. You’d think wrong clearly
Apparently a similar thing happened with the WWE wrestling lot. They held them on the runway for 6 hours.
Also freight . Among the considerations, BBC Sport has been told, was the potential impact calling off the race might have - whether there could be delays in personnel or freight leaving the country, for example.
Oh I missed the freight and didn’t even consider that with F1 this is a big issue especially compared to the wwe wrestlers
I have just added the freight as I didn’t spot it then , don’t think it was on there at the time . It all stinks , at the end of the day , they ( FIA & THE COMMERCIAL CROWD ) are chasing the mighty
TBF it could be that George is far more accustomed to driving a **** car! I don't think Lewis has ever driven a car this far off the pace in his life.
I wonder what Mercedes will do with Lewis tomorrow. Stick him on the hard tyre for a long stint or stick him on the softs and hope like hell there's an early safety car or red flag? I hope the latter. Assuming they can improve the balance on his Merc he should be able to get past a few cars off the line if he's on the soft tyre. There will be safety cars tomorrow so I hope they take a punt - it's not like they've got much to lose really.
It really was. I thought Charles’ lap was incredible, then Checo goes and does that! The RBR is a fair bit quicker down the straights of sector 2 than the Ferrari, which could be an issue for the red cars in the race.
