Ditto, not felt this bad for ages, can't even remember when. I live on the Island of Guernsey. They reckon 1 in 13 people, if not more, have COVID at the moment. We did really well last year, this year everyone has thrown caution to the wind.
Hope all okay Jazz What sort of symptoms? seems to be varying between people doesn’t it. I was more of headache and body ache/fatigue for two days and then largely felt okay apart from the occasional really weird feeling at the top of my chest (hard to describe- like an anxiety feeling just below collar bone level). Tested positive for the full ten days though. Took me a handful of sessions at the gym to knock the rust off and feel fully back to normal
Started with fatique, then everything else kicked it. Headache, temperature, extreme fatique, cough, sense of smell was never good so can't comment on that, some quite sharp pains in my abdomen, aches. Today I feel I have turned a corner, long way from 100%. Not ready to start exercising again yet. Can't complain though, my daughter still is struggling with long covid, after a more than a year. Interesting, they have discovered some, including my daughter, have lymph gland/node issues. Her glands are still enlarged as if the body is still fighting infection. They are measuring them regularly (they were concerned it could be cancer initially) and they are slowly reducing so there may be light at the end of the tunnel for her eventually. Anyway, fun weekend ahead.
Yes mate hopefully turning the corner- get well soon! Glad to hear there is some light at the end of the runner for your daughter - I remember you mentioning the long Covid issue. Just so hope they can make some breakthroughs that fully begin to get to the nub of the issues and treat wholly successfully.
Sorry to hear it. Yes, for some reason, when they removed basically all the restrictions at the same time as there was a highly contagious new variant of the virus, everybody started catching it!
It did seem madness, looking at figures they are still rising.... My personal opinion is that gov are just looking at death figures, hospital admissions, and the economy. Only reason to change law to allow people with covid back to work is to avoid sick pay!!! Plus cut down costs on testing, and makes the numbers come down as no testing! It's just mad. They should have kept some simple rules in like staying at home if you have symptoms, and wearing masks in indoor spaces and on public transport. We virtually didn't go in a shop for almost 18 months and now just looking round everyone is behaving like there is no virus at all. It's weird that it's starting to feel back to normal and you start taking more risks as it's no longer normal to wear a mask! While they now know a lot more about how to treat people with the virus that doesn't help people who have compromised immune systems, they just have to take a big risk if they want to go out of the house. I just feel that gov could have retained a few basic rules to reduce the spread. Hope you chaps are feeling better soon and have no lasting effects. Looking forward to the race.
Can’t speak for anyone else but we have not really changed . Try to do just one big shop a week , still sanitize on entry and exit everywhere we go , ( or if it’s not provided , then when we get back to the car ) . the only thing we do is go out for walks , and visit the occasional national trust place . Had a week in a self catering cottage in wales very recently , and we made sure even that was remote ! IMHO the govt have been slopey shoulders , not political as I wouldn’t wish these circumstances on any govt .
