The virus has not suddenly disappeared, and the predictions haven't been wrong. What has happened with the virus pretty much falls within the exact parameters of what the scientists said would happen. The Sage scientists were not predicting Domesday scenarios. They gave a range of possible timeframes and scenarios of the path variants could take, and the outcome is well within those predictions. There were many media outlets on both sides of the debate sensationalising the two extremes of those predictions, but ultimately what has happened is what they said would happen - as it is what happens with all viruses. Any virus will produce variants that will become dominant. Those variations go one of two ways. Either the virus will morph to become more deadly and so slow down it's own spread due to killing too many of its hosts, relying on the ability to lie dormant to survive, or it will become less deadly and spread faster as the population interacts more with less obvious or less serious symptoms - which is what happened once the Omicron variant became dominant. The virus is still out there but due to a mixture of immunity (through vaccines or naturally occurring antibodies) and a smaller occurrence of more serious symptoms, it is having a less obvious effect on the population. The key to limiting the number of deaths is getting a safe path through the early dangerous stages when the variations are both deadly and fast spreading. It's not a new scenario and its not complicated. It is exactly what happened 100 years ago and what has happened throughout human history. I'm not denying some people got very rich through the whole episode. They always do. They don't do it through manipulating history though. They do it because they are able to respond to any scenario that arises and use it to their advantage.
Horlicks they were massively wrong. Take Mr Ferguson at Imperial College. Look at his last prediction alone based on the governments plan to end all the restrictions. Simply miles out. As with every other prediction he made. Thankfully we ignored his last doomsday and this exposed his absolute horseshit.
If I gave the impression that it was you that I was talking about then I apologise. It was a general comment that the danger is there once people start mistrusting all governments and media. I think a lot of people have done that in recent years and the end result is frightening. A good friend who I worked with went down that route and now spends all of his time posting wacky conspiracies and completely rejecting anything scientific. The point I was making was that there is a difference between being sceptically untrusting and completely untrusting, and rejecting everything camn be dangerous.
People mistrust media and the government for one simple reason mate - its manipulated and full of ****. Governments and the mainstream media have been categorically proven to be the least reliable source of information on the planet. There isn't a few examples, there is a catalogue too long to list. It was never more in focus than COVID. Its all to set a certain narrative and its pretty blatant too. That's not a rabbit hole, its a fact of modern life. I agree dismissing it all out of hand is daft. But simply listening to the government or the science/version of world events they decide to present, and rejecting all other perspectives is pretty moronically obedient. But I get that too because most people want a simple life.
I bet they hadn't considered this as a consequence when they were planning on switching genders. They will have learnt a very important lesson that it's always a good idea to keep your paperwork up to date. Presumably they will now be forced into joining a Transgender Battalion - the Armoured Handbag brigade.
Unpopular opinion but it m beginning to think they the only way to deal with this bully is to use or threaten violence. Yes I am talking about calling his bluff and imposing a no fly zone and putting troops into Ukraine. we can’t sit and watch the slow death of a country. It’s the 21st century ffs and we now know Putins troops are all over the place and his armour is rusting.
And why can’t that murder abs his **** hole country better kicked out of the UN or at least the security council? Surely if 80% of countries vote to expel… it can happen? It’s like chickens voting for a fox to permanently live in their hen house.
Not only could this be considered unfair to trans women but also to men. Still a crappy standard of only men bein allowed to be drafted into the army. But at the same time, I wouldn't want any female family member to be on the front lines in a war like this... for obvious reasons.
I think they are taking women volunteers but obviously couldn’t make it compulsory for men and women as someone needs to look after any children. I suppose if they were being perfectly PC they could say that each family has to provide one adult and then let the family decide whether it was the husband or wife.
I'm hoping this is a genius ploy from the EU and USA (obviously not because none of them have a brain cell between them) and they are waiting for Russia to be so battered and demoralized with their doomed push through Ukraine that once they surrender and give up their phony war, the EU attack through the West border and USA hops over Alaska in through the East and we crush them into oblivion.
People need to realise the environmental pressures that lead to gender roles, it's not specifically sexism or misogyny.

As Russia continues to lose ground, now nearing 15,000 soldiers, a main battleship and hundreds of tanks. In a war against as Munson called them "bus drives." I'd like to return to said dipshits remarks a week or so ago that the Russian army would swat Britains away like a fly. Which is now, clearly, demonstrably, a load of utter bollocks.
IMO, no. China will side with China. If China see an advantage to them then they could assist or trade with Russia but only if they believe the benefits to them outweigh the potential disadvantages in upsetting the West/Rest. Otherwise they will stay neutral playing both sides.
