Hopefully we'll see him.. I actually thought he played well when he came on as a sub I think it was vs City?
I'd be going after Targett and hopefully have that wrapped up before the end of the season then a CF, CB, CDM, GK, CB in that order for me. Think that we should more be focusing on clearing the decks in the summer getting rid of the waste of space in the squad, Hendrick, Clark, Gayle, Wood, Fernandes (not anything personal but not been fancied so far and doesn't seem to have a future here), Krafth, Gillespie and then start at looking improving on the rest like Murphy, Lascelles, Hayden, Lewis, Miggy, Fraser, Shelvey over the next 2 windows (winter and the following summer). Past that lot we have the start of a decent squad in Dubz, (Woodman) Trippier, Manquillo, Schar, Burn, (Dummett), Targett, Bruno, Willock, (Longstaff x2) Joelinton, ASM, (Anderson), Wilson. Pad that out with another 9 quality signings over the next 3 - 4 windows and we'd have a decent team.
Simple fact is that that is what a regular goal scorer costs these days. We spent £20m on Wilson who was 28 and with a bad injury record and £25m on a 30 year old Wood. A good regular goal scorer with a good fitness record will cost significantly more.
From what I saw I would rather him get minutes as a sub than players like Murphy. I'm sure they know they've got a player, but the time wasn't exactly right to gamble on it. If the clubs in a better position next season he will get minutes.
Unbelievable this! (Posted on another thread by mistake) Since Eddie Howe became Newcastle manager, he has picked Jonjo Shelvey to start in midfield all of our PL games except for 3 matches…. We lost all 3 games and we didn’t score a goal in any of them!
