I spotted you on the apprentice, bruv <ok>

Yeah, we helped them out no end for that episode. Put them in touch with the fishermen who took them out on the boats. Set them up with stalls for the day etc. The contestants were all really sound. But the production crew were up their own arses.

Was a good day though, and something different.

Petrol prices don't really directly affect me much these days, albeit indirectly it affects me through food prices, and I'll be honest and call you right for once, he's taking the fooking piss...5p ffs....anyway, no politics here.
This pisses me off slightly and it wouldn't matter who was in power, the way i see it is like this.
Government take 5p off petrol it's **** all according to most, Government put 5p on petrol it's a ****ing massive rise and they need binning.

Someone on an average wage in one of the wealthiest nations in the world can barely afford to live which is a bit of an issue for me.

Isn't the average wage over 30k? Pretty sure people on that can afford to live. It's those closer to 20k that are going to struggle.

£38k apparently. I thought it was more like 30 too. After tax even for a single person that’s not leaving a lot after rent/mortgage, bills and fuel.

Maybe. I'm around that mark though (30 not 38) and can survive relatively comfortably while paying private rent and supporting a child, and I don't go without luxuries such as holidays etc.

I'm smoking 4/5g of weed a day at the minute too which isn't cheap lol.

Fair play. This month is the last of my student loan repayments so that’s an extra £300 or so a month I’m not spunking. Most of the outgoings are ****ing stags and weddings.

I reckon I'm probs on one of the lowest wages on here, just taking a guess. That's by choice and it's just that I'm in a position in life where the choices I've made and the circumstances around me mean that I don't need to earn a big wage.

I was fortunate enough to buy my house when prices were still relatively affordable, the place I moved to was a proper out in the sticks backwater, and it was a complete renovation job, so I got it for a song by today's prices. I did all the work myself so I didn't need a big wedge to pay builders to fix it up and it means my mortgage each month is small and is probs 1/4 of the going rate what it would cost to rent.

That said, I'm defo having to tighten the purse strings. My leccy has just gone up £500 per year, fuel prices have gone up, food prices have gone up and my council tax has gone up. My wage is what I make from my business and I'm reluctant to put my prices up, so effectively I'm taking a pay cut. And that's with me living pretty frugally anyway (2nd hand trainers off ebay lol. 8 min timer when we all use the shower)

What sort of prices do you pay down there for rent? Are house prices the same as London?
