This is unreal. Defender gets knocked out by the ball, hammered at him from just a few feet away. As he falls to the ground, unconscious, he lands on his opponent’s leg, breaking it. In steps the ref, who waits for the defender to come round before giving him a red card.
That is so clearly a penalty. Whether he has dragged his boot or not makes no difference, keepers arm takes him down. Absolute 0 doubt in my mind that Liverpool get the penalty if it was reversed.

One final Canadian Men's National Team update... Canada begins their final qualifying window for the World Cup. One point in three matches will be sufficient. Really, they don't even need that; there's only one possible combination of outcomes in the remaining matches that would see them drop out of the top four, and it's an unlikely one. Mainly, Canada's fighting to get into Pot 3, which is somewhat unlikely because they started qualifying with quite a low ranking, but there are now a plausible series of events to get there (though it'd almost definitely require that Canada take 7 or 9 points from this window). Low enough that they were never meant to be here: if CONCACAF had their way, qualifying for the World Cup would have been a walled garden of six preselected teams fighting for three places, with no route into the Hexagonal/Octagonal for anyone else. Canada, with the seventh-best FIFA ranking at the time, would have had to go through a separate qualifying path, fighting through the rest of CONCACAF, a playoff against the fourth-placed team from the Hexagonal, and an inter-confederation playoff. And now they're topping the table, undefeated through four of five windows. It's been quite a year.
