Chimpanzee troops will attack together in an organized manner. As for evidence pre-Bronze age, we really wouldnt have much evidence... Not much to leave behind. Most settlements were smaller anyway so would a squabble between two settlements of 100 people count as war to you? If it had full participation and trying to wipe each other out.

The Aztec empire may have been mere hundreds of years ago, so we know quite a bit about them. But they were a pre-Bronze age society. (Albeit with a lot of advancements not usually associated with stone age societies).

Aztecs not only practiced warfare they even fought friendly wars against friendly nations as an excuse to collect prisoners and kill people.

 

Yep, they'd have a fight with a neighbour, capture a few so they could sacrifice them.
