He was only caught by police once... But apparently was quite a thing with his Millwall team mates and a regular occurrence. To me shows low lack of character. Much worse if you steal as a joke imo than stealing out of desperation or necessity. I doubt he did it again after he got caught that one time though. I actually thought he was a fairly decent defender for us, I know some people didn't. Attacking fullbacks weren't as appreciated back then.
He was on loan at Millwall for 4 weeks then went back for a further 3 weeks. He hardly had time to even be called one of their players. With regard to the toilet seat incident- he was a Portsmouth player at the time and went shopping with a footballer friend for some bathroom items as his friend was doing up his bathroom. He had a toilet seat in his trolley and some taps and decided to change the toilet seat to one that was a gentle close so his children didn't trap their fingers. He took the seat out of the box and put a gentle close one in instead. While at the checkout the security said they'd seen them on CCTV swapping the toilet seats and the one he had put in the box was £2.35 more expensive. The police were called as is the case for shoplifting. So it wasn't actually Johnson stealing anything, he was just aparty to it. Non-story.
He wasn't at Millwall at the time but it was with the Millwall lads, it was with his old Millwall teammates he used to get into trouble. The story above is what Johnson says now, but other Millwall players have done interviews where they said "yeah we used to steal stuff together".
I've only ever heard of the B&Q bog seat thing, and his explanation that it was a mistake seemed reasonable enough. Not knowing him personally I wouldn't like to judge further. He annoyed me as a player because it's all very well going forward, but you have to be prepared to bust a gut to get back, and too often I saw him just jogging back to sort of get in behind the CB who'd been pulled wide to cover for him.
I've not heard any of that. I just looked up his wiki page though and it seems he had a tough life as a child, living in hostels with his Mum and two siblings, not an excuse to go shoplifting but it sort of puts it in perspective for me. The value of having a father in the home shouldn't be underestimated. Anyway getting a bit too deep into something that was more a throwaway comment so will leave it there.
Some people are saying that the FA Semi Final should be moved to Old Trafford. Liverpool must object, because playing it in Manchester is like City playing at home.

It's only 30mins down the road. I'd be far happier for fans to do that than go to London without trains running.
The train or transport authorities can make an exception by doing their maintenances at different time or FA change the date of the semi final.
No more than playing at Goodison would be like us being at home - in other words, not at all. I think OT would be a good choice tbh.
Yeah, I think it's fine it's only a short hop compared to hours and hours even if the London parties are then missed
Massive logistical problem to change the maintenance dates. Contractors and suppliers will have been booked well in advance and presumably alternative routes planned, replacement transport etc. And we have enough problems with fixture congestion without further arsing about.
