I fear the worst on that one but tbh I never doubtd that it wouldn't reappear there's too much money at stake.
The Big Six leaving the Prem to join the Super league is the best chance Newcastle have of winning anything
So anything been agreed with Chelsea in regards to a deal yet. I expect not otherwise that CFC lad would be crawling all over this place, to explain how in great detail this is all legal, and not something Boris has pulled out of his arse.
Word on the Web is there's a shortlist of ten, only 4 of those are serious/will be accepted. Ones the racist yanks Ones some head collecting saudis Dunno bout other two
Either way you can bet you fecking arse some politician will use it to get into bed with whoever takes over lol
I don't like all this Yank involvement, although having said that, I was pretty impressed with the Leeds manager the other day, when he gave his bench a bit of slap and told them all to stfu and sit down, when it was starting to kick-off.
Manager level is ok, i watch quite a lot of MLS and they have some good managers/coaches over there. The problem comes with owners, most are pure businessmen and see any club they buy as a cash cow, they will also push the super league through eventually when there's enough of them. Imagine that, 10 teams playing the Soccerball World Series every year.
We've the joy of the SF 49ers takeover to look forward soon. That's Phillips and Raphinha gone, then they'll spend half of it and tell us how lucky we are theyre funding these new players.
Yank sports are miles better in terms of competitiveness compared to football. Structure is completely different though so almost impossible to implement here in the same way. To my knowledge all American sports teams make money because they have the salary cap, which is decided based on total revenue of the sport from the previous year. All money generated in say the NFL goes into a central pot and then is split across all 32 teams evenly. They then work out what the total should be for each team to spend on players wages whilst still ensuring that all teams owners make money. This obviously is nothing like how football is run here, plus throw in no transfer fees and no draft/college level and works completely differently. They will probably try and make it as Americanised as possible if enough of them are in charge
Any league which doesn’t have a relegation/promotion system is ****e and pointless…Americans like this format. I don’t get Chelsea lad Bluey getting excited, someone or another is going to buy them. The problem the chavs keep on ignoring is that no one is going to spend like Roman did lol
I've had a soft spot for Benfica ever since I was a lad and the 1968 European Cup Final against your lot ... whilst I was rooting for United on the night there was a specific moment in the game that still stays with me ... the wonderfully gifted Eusebio stopping to applaud a save that the United keeper, Alex Stepney, had made ... true sportsmanship that puts to shame the blatant play acting cheats, bling culture, and egos of too many that have come since ... a true legend and all time great of the beautiful game for me.
Manchester City ’s billionaire owner is facing a furious backlash after he was pictured hugging Syria’s mass-murdering tyrant Bashar al-Assad. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was also seen strolling with the president, who has used chemical weapons on his own citizens. Last night Chris Bryant MP questioned whether the sheikh was a “fit and proper person to be owning a football club” and said it would be “good to see the back of him”. He added there has been “barbarous, sustained murder going on in Syria” under Assad. Amnesty International said both Assad and the UAE are guilty of“human rights violations and war crimes”.
