Nope. Please try again. "your comment is what I would expect you to say." You are posting on an article about Harry Kane stats, told they objectively answer your question about how good he is, and then went off on a lecture about the true nature of statistics.
They can tell you things about whatever you wish to measure. The more you measure, the more you know. "And before anyone thinks I am blaming Kane I am just making a point about stats" Actually you have kinda made the counter case. If a forward is solely to blame for the "big game" outcomes, then the measures you stated are reasonable, and you would then assess these stats for Kane against those of his population set (all PL forwards etc) . If not solely to blame (ie the effects of the individual cannot be measured away from the team as a whole) , then the stats cannot be significant.
That was something that I noticed quite a few years back. Kane was quite one-footed early on, then added goals with his left. Didn't create many, then worked on that. Always looking to improve.
First Chelsea game I ever saw live was vs Newcastle and he was AWOL, yet every time i'd watch him on TV at Ewood/SJP he'd tear it up.
As I repeatedly state, it doesn't matter how you dimension his performance measures, they continually show that Kane is operating at such an elite level. On the spectator side, I have seen WC forwards such as Lineker and Klinsmann play for Spurs. With Kane I think I have some understanding of how the generations before me must have felt when watching Greavsie in his prime.
27 minutes of Harry Kane scoring Premier League away goals: Includes his deflected free-kick against Villa from 2014, which may well be the last one he scored.
<BBC> The Spurs pair have now linked up for 39 goals in the Premier League, extending their record as the competition's deadliest double acts. Son has scored 20 Premier League goals on a Kane assist - and only David Silva (22 to Sergio Aguero) and Frank Lampard (25 to Didier Drogba) have assisted a team-mate more. </BBC> No way Kane or Son will have bettered the above by the end of the season. < rcl >
His ego won’t allow him to stop taking them. Only way he stops taking free kicks is by moving to another club.
