Reguilon particularly needs the hairdryer treatment. Not just for the overreaction but for going down too easily when clean through. If that ****ology stays in his game he will be too much of a liability. There's a good little player in there, but he's poor defensively and he gets a panic attack in the last third. No way RM will want him back or Barcelona come in for him either.
FWIW, Antonio should have seen red for that attempted forearm smash on Romero. I hadn't spotted it until DH posted it, but it should be retrospectively looked at. Dunno if it will, though.
It won't. They've basically given up on that sort of thing now. Charging someone would be an admission that both the on and off-pitch officials ****ed something up. They won't do that.
Ain't seen that...was at the game and asked on here wtf was going on... Just funny as watching ern getting totes mowsh
I hate the diving and wish ALL players were immediately booked for pretending. Trouble is refs refuse to take action so it just continues...think it was Reguilon that threw himself to the floor when one on one yesterday...was really pissed off with him ... deserved a booking and it could of cost us.
I couldn't see it properly from where I was, but he looked like he was the favourite for the ball. If he chose to go to ground there, then I've no idea what he was thinking. He's looked off since replacing Sessegnon in the team. Perhaps his confidence took a hit when he wasn't getting selected? This is not the way to react to that.
I was right behind the goal about 2 thirds of the way up the stand. It looked like he had a bad touch that took him wide and as the defender touched him he dived. Was easily as bad, if not worse than the Antonio one earlier in the game
I was, but I saw a montage of him on 80s TV (Saint and Greavsie ?? ) , and there were quite a few moments like the Bentancur one.
Bentancur looks a fabulous player. He was always likely to be a successful purchase for us, given that our midfield had been so poor for so long. However, that does him a major disservice. I love watching him play as he is a perfect marriage of hard work, ability, intelligence and some style. He's pretty much exactly what we needed. He's a really calming influence who reads the game so well, can run with the ball, pass it short or long, tackles intelligently (without fouling) and can run all day long. If he can shoot, he'll be well on the way to being a perfect all-rounder. A partnership of him and Skippy would harass any team and give us a chance. They need to have WB's outside them who will match their physical powers and can deliver in the final third of the pitch. If we can get that right and add some quality and depth to the squad, we've got the beginnings of a real unit to go into next season.
It's obviously too early to judge Bentancur as a success, but he's started very well. It worries me a little, as I can't see why Juventus seemed happy to let him go, never mind so cheaply. The same would apply to Kulusevski, though it might be system dependent for the ginger.
I think it’s money. They spent a lot on Vlahovic after all and the Ronaldo years weren’t kind to them financially. Plus they’ll not get a fee for Dybala. They’ve got a lot of big earners still, who they likely won’t get fees for. Bentancur looks a steal if he carries on like this. With Kulu they’ll get a good fee in the end, but one I’m happy for the club to pay for a young player who continues to produce the goods and improve. If he stays on that path then everyone will be happy. Worth noting that Chiesa was blocking his path too so the player was likely interested in a move.
With both of them, the best you can hope for (assuming they sign) is they have to date been suffering the 'Salah and KDB at Chelsky' effect.
