Checking the league table and found out we have the joint 3rd best defense.. The list is: Newcastle : 6 Man City : 7 Sunderland: 10 Chelsea : 10 Liverpool : 10 After 9 games I think this is brilliant. Obviously we haven't played teams like City, Chelsea and United, but still I think our defense is shaping up very well. Also we have the best goal difference at +2 till you hit Liverpool in 6th. That is also brilliant. Also we have scored 12, you have to go to 8th before someone has scored the same or more. I just thought i'd like to share this positive information. Now all we need to do is get some wins. Win on Saturday we could jump to 8th!
I think because that match was so utter s**t I have blanked it out of my memory.. on a serious note can't believe i forgot about that! doy!
I'll be happy if we concede less than 5 against Man City at the moment when we play 'em - hopefully they will have a dip in form when we play 'em.
It's all well and good having a good defensive record but, we have to win the games as well that's where we are failing.
fair enough but at least we are not Bolton. With us i can see us getting out of this and stringing a few wins together, Bolton is another matter.
We have looked reasonably comfortable this season defensively (aside from the Norwich game and the first 5 mins of the WBA and Arsenal games)
Thanks for wishing us well! Perhaps even with the limitations of our manager and your 10 point lead in the table, by the end of the season it may well matter.
