His general footballing IQ is actually very good. He really reads the game. Just needs to cut out the over enthusiastic errors.
I've happy to let Salisu off for giving away the penalty, because up until that point I thought he'd been good. Whereas Stephens was just dreadful from start to finish. But Stephens aside, I thought we were really good for an hour. Stu went from having one of his worst ever Saints games last weekend, to one of his best ever today. Christ he was good. Failure to take our chances was regretful, but not wholly unexpected. And there was nothing we could do to stop City from calling Foden and Mahrez off their bench. (But it continues to astound me that they went for Grealish rather than a striker like Kane.)
I think (Romsey). My hometown by the way, you are spot on this. I would him to be a player bit........
The pass JWP played to Lucy, in the build up to Che’s chance was just exquisite. I think this is another part of his game that has improved this season although I don’t think he does it often enough. It certainly gives us other options when hitting on the break.
It really isn’t. It’s as simple as “see ball, get ball” he rushes in every time. Needs to learn when to hold back and shepherd a player rather than committing himself. Admittedly he usually wins the ball, but can easily go wrong as it did today. And I’d imagine if forwards watch some footage of him and how reckless he tends to be we will start seeing lots more of them being clever like Jesus was
I don’t see it either. In che’s first season you could see a PL striker who needed time. In Arma I really don’t see him being up to the level we need. But hopefully he will prove me wrong
I get what you’re saying, but I think he understands the game a lot more than that (and a lot better than Jack). He sees stuff before it happens.
Remember the tackle on KDB in the league game? Clean as a whistle. He has the odd brain fart but he has the potential to be be world class. It shouldn’t be forgotten he is still only 22.
One good thing to come out of today is that I don't have to start reporting my dogs' bowel movements on here* *Though Mrs No7 cleared up the mess whilst I was at football and said that there were definately multiple logs out there...5 in total.....
Let's give him a chance. Jamie Vardy only scored 5 goals in his first Premier League season (playing 34 games). And that was at the age of 28. Adam's only started a dozen or so games for us. Very rarely do strikers come to the Premier League and hit the ground running. Even Lukaku is struggling.
The link up with Romeu (I think?), the run into space, and the ball coming back off the post early in the first half, probably deserved a goal, and would have been a cracker.
I'm certainly not prepared to give up on Adam Armstrong. His shooting was embarrassing yesterday but the rest of his game was pretty good.
