Disappointing you couldn't have let West Ham have at least a point to assist pushing United down to 7th just for the bantz of watching them having to play europa conference football. Surely spammers, you, us and Wolves could conspire somehow to let it be so.

The game in hand against Man Utd is now played.
And the result today effectively gives Spurs 3 pts
and a game in hand against the Spanners.

Personally, I think that result means West Ham and Wolves are highly unlikely to finish within the top-6.

It's between us, you lot and Man Utd for that 4th spot. Worst case scenario, I can't envisage either of us finishing lower than 6th.

This is something that I don't get: back when Harry Redknapp managed them I certain respected them, because they had an eye for talent, used youth well, and could play some good stuff on occasion. So when did they turn into this spawny irritant?

...and why did it just so happen to coincide with The Pornographers showing up?

No honestly I do. Chelsea is just the money and West Ham have a free stadium. Arsenal at least do things the right way as much as I hate them!<laugh>

You’ll finish 4th. I think you’ll get a result against us whether it be a draw or win.
We have to win to have any chance of finishing 4th. Plus we have Liverpool away still so can’t see us getting anything there

Need to stop this constant whingeing when fouls (soft ones) don’t go our way. All we needed was Lacazette hounding the referee and we’re arsenal!

The big 6 are again the top 6. Is that the first time this season that’s happened?

If anything, what we need is to stop letting players' heads drop if the ref isn't giving us anything, as that tends to make losses a self-fulfilling prophecy

It's a longterm issue with us, as it happened against Middlesbrough a couple of weeks ago just like it happened over a decade ago in the FA Cup semi against Portsmouth with numerous examples inbetween where once the players figure they won't get anything from the ref so they just give up and let the result go against us because they expect it to go against us

I did like the way the commentator tried to suggest that should West Ham win the Europa and an English side win the Champions League then 4th could miss out on next seasons champions league and whilst that is a possibility in theory, it would need the team that wins the champions league to finish outside the top 4 which is is looking quite unlikely.

I mean, obviously I hope you’re right, but I wouldn’t rule out you or Man Utd. And regardless of your personal predictions, we don’t know what’s going to happen. Otherwise we may as well end the season and call it a day already.

But Arsenal have given me plenty of PTSD over the years in terms of being in a very promising position come March/April, but then going on a horrible run of form in the final stretch to dent any high hopes we had. This was the case under Emery and in Wenger’s latter years.

It remains to be seen whether this Arsenal side have the fortitude and resilience to take control of the situation we find ourselves in from now until the end of the season.

I want to believe we can, but the players have to prove it to me.

Because if they can’t, you lot are lurking, and Man Utd aren’t a million miles away, either.

    Either way, it’s not over.

I can see Arsenal getting all 9 points from their next 3 games. It's the 3 that follow that - Chelsea (A), United (H), West Ham (A) that will probably make or break their season.

Same for United - their next 3 games look like 9 points on paper. After that they face Liverpool (A) and Arsenal (A) back to back, which I think will make or break their season.

We are obviously massively inconsistent but on paper at least, our fixtures during the same time look much more favourable: Newcastle (H), Villa (A), Brighton (H), Brentford (A), Leicester (H) before we go to Anfield for what is by a distance our hardest remaining fixture.
