We will probably need it if we are in League 2.

My few thoughts on how it is at present..
Anyone know has Stewart played every game this season? Cos he's looking like a couple of weeks time out would do him the world of good, perhaps this upcoming break will help as if he's not scoring our team is pretty limited in that department.
Were relying on youngsters to fill the gap, yes I know they did against Crewe but being youngsters you can't rely on them scoring every week and this could be our Achilles heel.
Defoe might yet come good but we're running out of games and sadly just when AN sorts out the defence it seems to the detriment of our goalscoring chances.
Talking of chances we seem to creating plenty but if they don't fall to Stewart then we have problems.
AN has a couple of weeks to come up with a plan to sort this out, we aren't out of the play offs yet by any means and has been said other clubs are not getting results they would expect but that's football.
On a side note my grandson went to Wigan with his mates to watch his team Morecambe get stuffed again, I just hope the seasons last game doesn't have us sending them down and want our play off place secured before then. OaU

I can see where you're coming from
Maybe I'm just a tight bugger, but I was in exactly that position and told them to get lost and bought another house.
Funnily enough they ended up selling the house for slightly less than I offered.
    Funny old world.

Wasn't named in the original squad, must be a call up due to injury if true

We didn't score but I don't lay the blame at Neil's door and don't believe he sacrificed attack for defence.

Clarke should've had at least one attempt on target, Stewart had decent chances, Defoe is better than his attempt that went wide, Evans should've gone with his left peg and Neil had a chance he'll put away 100 out of 100 in training.

I was out of my seat when it fell to him <doh>

i can see some peoples views on the current state of affairs (being stuck in this league still) but i tend to look at it from the angle that when we dropped we dropped that fast we still had some high wages on the books, since then we have struggled to get those wages down to a level where we do not fall foul of the F.A. rules (no one else appears to have the same problems if wigan can offer wyke 10k per week and still sign a good few players).

now we have a new owner and i think i can see his view on this as well, he has a value and a price he was/is perepared to pay and he obviously is not going to throw extra millions at the chancers if he does not need to, they both know they are not welcome here but none want to 'lose' as much as a single penny, unfortunately, that is a chance every business person takes, that they could well lose money in a deal...they dont want to be here, we dont want them here so i would say their best bet is take what is offered and move on.

i have more or less written this season off, basically i do not want to build my hopes up yet again to be left deflated as we face the reality of another missed chance so i have prepared myself for that knock back nice and early...do i feel AN is the man to finally lead us out, i like the man because he is honest and does not attempt to gloss over a dire performance and celebrate a draw as a major victory, performances are improving with some decent passing moves seen and a stronger looking defence so i really hope he is the man to do it with the benefit of a summer window...with any luck, the chancers will accept the next offer or offer their shares at a slightly reduced price and we can really start to look forward.

All I wish for is that we achieve a sustainable promotion. I can't see what insulting the owners will achieve.

Not an insult, I only say what I see. He came in with a fanfare, he was backed by everyone we were desperate for this change but we still see the same patterns emerging and lately information has come to light that we would not have been happy with had we known from the outset. None of this would have been a big issue if we were performing on the pitch, fans are the most fickle bunch and will turn a blind eye to all sorts when their team is winning. We have however blown this season big style so some fans are focussing on the negatives. Something needs to jolt the owner into action and I think the only thing that will get his attention is a lack of season ticket sales and arses on seats come August.

What annoys me about your stance, and those of people like you, is that you're quite condescending about other supporters. You're saying that you see things they don't and that they're being brainwashed into accepting mediocrity. In my experience there isn't one Sunderland supporter who fits your description, not one. You may believe you're superior, to other supporters, and aren't as dopy and gullible but you just have a different opinion based on supposition and guesswork. That's no different to everyone else.

Whatever the case, we're currently in a playoff position and have a handful of games to concentrate on. Not being rude but, if you're so passionate about your conviction, why not start a thread and keep your theories off the match thread which is about football, not boycotting the club.

Disappointed with the draw, however keep playing like that & we will win more than we draw....play like that & cant see us loosing.

We missed some big chances by players we are better than that for missing, im convinced it will come, very frustrating given we drop points at Charlton & Lincoln playing well but play poor in 2 home games & win both.

The positives in my head is quite easily we could have been discussing a 3/4 nill win, yes negative were not, but i dont beleive were going to miss that many chances week in week out, i think the goals will come. Were no longer shipping goals & those 2 poor home performances prove we can grind results out playing badly.

The is no reason that last paragraph is not the mix to start of a good run of form. Few sides look strong in/around playoffs, I beleive were geading in right direction to be one.

Nowt we can do about ownership at the moment, dont beleive now is the right time keep banging drum about it, yes it needs sorting & im as frustrated/sick as everyone else but to me right now we have more pressing matters to try & get the fxck out of tgis division & we in with as good a shout as any of the others around us until its not possible i intend to KTF

Feel no superiority complex whatsoever, I want us to succeed like everyone else but after 4 seasons of mediocrity there is a definite air of resignation around the club and a definite mentality that we are just another L1 club brewing among fans. There’s nothing condescending about putting forward my observations and at no point have I slagged off any fan, the words above are entirely yours not mine so thanks for your interpretation but you are wrong with your assumptions on my mentality and personality traits.

I am pointing the finger at the current regime in the way they are managing our expectations down over time to the extent we collectively become content with scraping a draw against a team we should be expecting to beat. I see plenty of threads full of comment where we are desperate to see positives in piss poor results so the performance of the club has absolutely nothing to do with us as fans most are absolutely behind the owners and coaching team. All of this has been brought about firstly by the spivs and carried on by KLD to some extent. The club cannot keep doing the same things and expect the outcome to change and the January window was poor to say the least, we are reaping the benefit of that window and our continued reliance on some promising young players who really shouldn’t be our only option in key positions at the ****ty end of a hard season. We should have brought cover in for these positions rather than allowing players to leave without a equal or better replacement. Even our senior players are under a lot of pressure so I cannot imagine what the youngsters are feeling on a Saturday at 3pm.

We may be in the playoffs now but as much as I hope we stay there I can’t help but think we have more slips in our locker than those around us. I hope I am wrong though.

This is what you posted and it's clearly condescending. Who are you to say that other supporters are having their expectations lowered and are gullible enough to accept L1 mediocrity.

"Hence by these repeated actions they are lowering the fans expectations. See enough dross it becomes the norm and you stop complaining so much.Maybe being moderately happy with one performance in three in L1 is what we should be content with now? Is that the new level?"
The owners will keep doing this as long as the fans keep turning up and paying through the nose to watch this ****."

People keep turning up because they want to, boycott if you want but don't think you're bravely spearheading it.

With Roberts and Clarke looking good just imagine what it’s going to be like when they are joined by Pritchard and McGeady helping out the leagues top scorer Stewart (or has he been overtaken recently)
It’ll be like the Harlem Globetrotters at our front end.
Add Cirkin and Hume/Huggins to them and we should be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the UK.
Neil with his passing and Matete/Onion’s energy in midfield.

How on Earth are we not running away with this league.

Sadly we lost all of our best players, Stewart apart, at various critical points.

If we'd kept Huggins, Broadhead, O'Nien, Pritchard, etc, in the team it would've been exhilarating imo.

Judging by yesterday and all the chances we created, unless Stewart scores we struggle to hit the back of the net.

The not bringing in a replacement for Broadhead... soon as...hmmm

Only my opinion, but I reckon we’ve had the most boring, passionless, characterless managers since Paolo was sacked but then again I loved Paolo so I might be wrong.
