But, he sticks with same formation at home which is obviously not working. Slater should never have been benched, Doc is simply not up to championship level. Taking off him & smallwood was the right thing to do but not to put hudds in there with honeyman. Change formation 3 5 2 or 3 4 1 2, we know Eaves is ****e up top on his own stick klp or Allah fella alongside him. Just doing the same every week and not changing anything isn't helping. This isn't a rant after another defeat as Luton are bang in form and top 6 for a reason but Shota needs to try something different, even though most of our squad are simply not good enough.
Luton were nothing at all today they were as open at the back as we were - we gave them the game through fatigue after the Cov game never play a winger as a wing back they cannot tackle ffs Longman and playing one up front with KLP 30 yds away hugging the line is pointless ( KLP had a good game only when the ball wax worked to him. Eaves wax playing up F *** about players not backing him up - he was right. Pitch wax crap but professionals should be able to cushion and trap a ball !
Everyone can see improvements in the shape but ultimately this team is at their limit in 20th and that’s probably being generous.
I must say one of the most disappointing things I saw today wasn't even on the pitch. It was the little ****ers in the North stand throwing bottles onto our own fans ... Not just ****ing embarrassing but ****ing disgusting. We don't need these idiots. And the little kid who got all the way to Ingram wtf? BTW we where poor too.
The result seems irrelevant after hearing that there was a medical emergency on the east concourse. Looked like there was a protective shield up at one of the entrances to the seats. Thoughts are with the supporter.
Without that collective defensive brain fart weve won that game 1-0 and that’s how I’ll view it given all 3 of their goals don’t count in my eyes
We've been beaten today by a side in 5th due to some sloppy errors. We weren't blown away, and for the first hour especially there wasn't much in it. We beat Coventry midweek and we're something crazy like 5 unbeaten away from home. We are what we are this season but there's definitely been improvements since Shota took over, both in individuals and as a collective. Any notion that he was going to walk in the door and we'd magically become a top 6/10 team was just daft
I don't disagree with making changes but it sort of is working. We're 13 off the bottom 3 with 8 to go for Barnsley. It's a lot like pulling teeth but we're seeing the job through.
Mostly true but at home we are poor I can't dress that up any other way. The big question is why are we so poor?
Think you must be watching a different team to me, under Grant we won 3 on a bounce & looked solid - then we sacked him. Zero progress in defence or offence with the new coach. Same mistakes. Same tactics. Same obvious flaws.
Well despite the promise of the second half of the first half, yet again we were our own enemies, call it naive, stupid, lack of concentration, whatever you like but when you gift 2 goals like that we are never gonna climb the table. I could honestly see us getting back into it at halftime but how many times this season have we fkd it up with stupid errors and bad decision making. Luton looked tidy, well organised, and played as a team, but we caused them problems at times. We desperately need a no nonsense defender, 3 young kids would learn so much .. like Turner did with Brown, couldn't really understand the dropping of Slater for Doc, unless he is trying to protect him a bit and similar with Flemming. Very disappointing especially given the size of the crowd but was pleased at least Eaves got some reward for his efforts today.
Always easy to get emotional and say we were terrible after a game like that but we weren't. Lack of quality around the goal as always, but they weren't better than us. The McLoughlin error was ****e, but they did the exact same thing first half and got a soft free kick when Eaves came away with it. The free kick was quality, and again a reminder that everyone else has these technicians in their team and we don't. We had a free kick in the same position but KLP doesn't have those little up and down ones in him. Walsh does as we know but we don't play technical players. I'm bored of saying it but Huddlestone is surely worth playing more often than just the odd sub appearance when games are already lost. No surprise that the one good forward pass into the box was him and led to a goal. He's just so far ahead of everyone else it's ridiculous. And it wasn't a needless foul for the free kick at all, it was a tactical foul to stop a player running through. They did the same thing to KLP three times first half but again, the difference is we can't score them.
The difference being Eaves can't tackle without giving away a foul. So many of our attacks break down because he can't seem to challenge legally. And Huddlestone was nowhere near being the last man when he gave away the free kick so it was absolutely needless and, sorry to say, typical of his own clumsy tackling ability.
I never said that you clown,I'm on about next season.....wake up and smell the bacon.....probably vegan in your case
