It was OK. The reworking of the book for TV was done well as this particular one was extremely unrealistic as a final set up in the book. I felt they missed a trick with explanations of certain things he was up to and such. Eg he cocks and locks the desert Eagle hand gun with one in chamber which speaks to his training but they made no attempt to explain it so it just looks like him being flahs like a lot.of TV shows.
Not just Liverpool ,the beach scene in episode 2 used the old Customs House at Thurstaston over here on the Wirral. Pretty decent series.
Yeah. I really like Upload. Much better than Greg Daniels' other sit com, Space Force, which has gone a bit flat in the second season and don't know if I can get through it.
Resident Alien is a show I've just started getting into. Half way through second season now, it's pretty good although does have a few too many chick-flicky diversions at times (I guess filler to pad the show length), but when it's on the main story line it is amusing and entertaining.
Finished Ipcress, decent enough but not sure I like Joe Cole, why did the British phones ring like USA ones and couldn't stand modern day American phrases used instead of English ones of that time.
The Adam Project film with Ryan Reynolds and Zoe Saldana, decent enough sci-fi.Typical Reynolds film with humour in it.
Watched Nightmare Alley last night 6/10. Very stylish, but never really gripped me. I think the director peaked with Pan's Labyrinth to be honest.
Tried (hard) for picard season 2. Season 1 was not great at all. It fits into this fall of the roman empire style bullshit they got i to with the whole discovery thing. Season 2 is a barrel of hot steaming ****e. Patrick Stewart should be ashamed to be involved tbh.
Time travel... again. Its been done... Many times... by Star Trek And why do they always travel back to California in the present. Also they seem to have forgot about the DS9 time travel episodes, Sisko and the Bell Riots which are supposed to be taking place in 2024. For me a show like Star Trek to forget its own history is a huge faux pas.
Well. Given 2022 has caught up with ds9 and there's onlyva "few riots" I suppose we might maybe forgive this but it is utterly tragically poor
If we were going on IRL, Khan would have conquered large parts of the world and then ****ed off to space so lets ignore whats happening around us in reality. Lets say ST has its own timeline and certain events have been established. I hate it when a show tries to rewrite its own canon cause the people running the 'new' bits can't be arsed to learn whats has already happened. I also think any Sci-fi show that does a time travel to the present era is ****ing lazy. Its just excuse to wander around LA for a bit.
True but then it is I suppose a victim of its own longevity then. I just feel these guys are utterly disinterested in what it was and basically want to make top gear ambitious but rubbish... in space. First the woman is drunk staggering round the guys bridge for what reason I dunno. Then we have some rather odd oh jean luc is a afraid to kiss women or something but when he's been round the houses on tng. Then it goes alt reality and that but do anything bar be "in space" so straight back to 2024 where upon you get the formerly drunk woman lecture the clowning pilot/captain to not get hurt and that for about 5mins then they beam down and drop him off a two story building and he is dragged about saying no doctors blah blah. And then I turned it off. Not sure how I got that far as I was quite confused that q sent picard on an avature/trial and the old fart stays in the ship with his feet up
Not got to see any of the new Star Trek series. They're locked behind a pay wall in the US. Not paying for yet another streaming service that has Trek and nothing else of note. Wish we got it on Netflix here
