Why all the negativity ? - we`ve drawn with them twice this season, and we may have won up there but for that strange penalty reversal decision. 2-1 Saints!
Im still a bit pissed that we've got Dean for this. Why choose such a high profile game at home when they could have chucked him in at a dead rubber away in a few weeks time? He certainly loves to make it all about him so I'm expecting a controversial decision one way or the other. More likely in their favour.
Biggest game of the season for us, shame we got the worst draw possible but at least it is at home. Season is pretty much over if we don't win so hopefully we can extend our unbeaten run against City to 3!
I am increasingly getting the feeling that it will be the back ups on display tomorrow again, that being said they can't be any worse than the first team last weekend. Hopefully at least its a mix, something like; ----------------------Cabellero----------------------- -Livramento--Salisu----Stephens----KWP----- --------------JWP---------------Diallo---------------- --S Armstrong------------------------Redmond--- -------------A Armstrong----Broja-----------------
Worth remembering that 16 players are likely to feature at some time during the match so the question in my mind is do you start with the fringe players and then beef up as the opposition tires.... or do you hope that the fringe players will have an impact coming on for the last half hour or so. For me, it's a bit of each. For example, I'd start with Long and Armstrong knowing that we have two good strikers to give them a hard time later on. But Djenepo rarely impresses at the beginning of the game so I'd give him a free role later on if needed. Diallo and Ely are also likely to be used at some point but please don't mess with the back four whoever starts. Your line up is actually a good one. Just a personal preference but I would probably start with Ely and Romeu, bringing on Diallo when Romeu gets his yellow, and Redders as Ely tires.
Whoever Ralph picks I want to see the press. It’s been missing in the last 3 games and has been, for me, the main reason for our drop in standards. Also evident, in those matches, was a period of panic defending straight after conceding, another bad habit we had previously rid ourselves of. Hoping for a better performance, than of late but would settle for a win as a result of us being crap and lucky.
I am 100% with you on this. If we assume JWP plays the full 120 and the back 4 is best not to be messed about with, it leaves the other 5 up for subs. I’d split Adams and Broja, with them both off we have no target to counter with. Forster KWP Bednarek Salisu Peraud Armstrong JWP Romeu Redmond Adams Armstrong Subs: Willy, Livramento, Stephens, Valery, Diallo, Djenepo/Walcott/Tella, Elyounoussi, Broja, Long Diallo on for Romeu any time after 65 (but only once Romeu’s Booked Elyounoussi and Djenepo/Walcott/Tella on for Armstrong & Redmond together, keeps the balance between MF and FW line Broja on for Armstrong at 60, Long for Adams at 80 Option to bring on 6th sub in ET if needed to hold on to a lead or through to penalties
Hi peeps. Is the game being shown anywhere tomorrow? Someone mentioned BBC but just checked and Forest / Liverpool is on? TIA
Indeed Something has just has to give. Tomorrow, one side is fated to lose their unbeaten record against the other this season. City will travel knowing they must do what they, Spurs, Manchester United or high flying West Ham have failed to manage over 9 games combined; that is register a win against the crack South Coast outfit. COYS
We need our strongest 11 to start, not pick the likes of Willy and Theo to start. We won’t qualify for Europe or get relegated and we have an international break coming up, so no need to rest anyone.
