Having time on my hands today, I have done a bit of internet trawling of football form sites, and have been amazed at the amount of information and statistics that are out there, (some looks a load of garbage mind you!) but nevertheless, there's shed loads of info available nowadays. As an example, the figures relating to Northampton and Rovers are quite intriguing. 1) Total PPG so far : Northampton 1.70, Rovers 1.62. 2) Last 8 games PPG: Northampton 1.50, Rovers 2.38. 3) Last 6 home games shots on target Northampton 28, Last 6 away games shots on target Rovers 37. (If it's not on target, you wont score!) 4) Northampton GD +13, Rovers GD +10. 5) Last 6 home games goals scored Northampton 9, Last 6 away games goals scored Rovers 10. So what does this tell us? ----- absolutely nothing, this game could swing either way and each team shades the stats in one way or another. To be fair, they both seem too close to separate so if I was a neutral, I'd be expecting a score draw on Saturday.
I would settle for a draw away from home to a side in the top 5 They get a lot of goals from set pieces their CHs have 11 between them so our defence will have to be wide awake on Saturday
They’re no mugs Northampton so I think it will be a tight game. They are well organised and score from set pieces but we have some genuinely match-winning players. A narrow win for the Gas, fingers crossed.
Be a massive achievement if they do - really hope you're right.. Would give everyone else something to worry about too!
Good stats and some of them came to a reality. A draw would have been a great result. A win and a clean sheet.... outstanding result. Fair play to Barton and the team. That Elliot Anderson mind... wow! What a player.
