This weekend really is a massive game now. Not only to beat the Spam and try and build some consistency, but also because a win would put us 5th with the same games played as United and a game in hand on West Ham, and the same points as Arsenal. They’d have games in hand on us but one of them against us. Absolutely massive game if we want to get anywhere significant this season.
I got a ticket for the West Ham game. Will be my first for over 2 years.... Got a standing area ticket...not sure if that was wise considering how knackered I am after covid...definitely covid and not old age BTW
The good news is that, at the weekend, the pressure is on West Scam The bad news is that's a sentence which can be used this season...
It won't be mentioned again as it didn't affect the result, but where was VAR with the penalty at the end? You can add it to the ever increasing list of VARisms. Except as I say it will be forgotten as nothing hinged on it... but they might have.
They seem to be missing a lot of possible penalties at the moment, can’t remember what game except I know it didn’t involve Spurs it but there were a few dodgy things which didn’t seem to get checked properly
https://streamja.com/rOE0e Tony ****ing Gale thought it was an obvious foul, FFS. Manchester's Lee Mason, the only dedicated VAR official, ladies and gentlemen.
Didn’t see the game as working but that is scandalous. Bad enough the ref gets it wrong but to see it replayed and still not give the penalty is borderline cheating
And they yet could, this is shaping up to be a very tight season, goal difference could yet be important, what if we were miss out on Europe by being 1 goal behind the spammers it could happen, then this non award of a stonewall penalty might be very significant.
That is a ****ing awful decision. Not only is the ref just 5m away with a direct line of sight but the reverse angle shows the kick to the knee and the push, so VAR has no excuse. Well, other than the fact that it was such an awful game he may have fallen asleep or gone home early.
Romero got another yellow ,that's eight now ,we are going to lose him on a two match ban if he's not careful at a time of the season when we will need him most
Good result (clean sheet, another Kulu influenced goal) . I stated months ago that I believed that Spurs finishing top 4 will depend on pts (as our GD would be bad) . After the results yesterday + a quick look at the full PL table, GD may now be something to be mindful of.
Looks like they've changed it, probably due to the amount of postponed games: "Players who accumulate 10 yellow cards in Premier League matches, up to and including their team's 32nd fixture, will serve a two-match suspension in the competition." We've played 28, for anyone that's not keeping count. Romero has 8 in the league and 2 that don't count. That's rather a lot for 23 appearances.
