Yes, agreed. When we played 3-4-2-1 we were playing some excellent attacking football, although we were totally wide open every game in the middle. I presume Warburton has tried to tighten up the midfield by changing to 3-5-2, although I suppose it was rather forced on him when Chair went off to the AFCON.
Wtf, went out to walk the dog when we were 1-0 up come back and it looks like we collapsed. I’ll read the intervening pages of this thread when I’ve had a beer or two, take the edge off. Never ****ing easy, is it?
I just feel gutted that we’re not looking to really go at teams any more. Just feel that the pressure has got to Warburton and he has simply tried to consolidate our position by being defensive and it’s not paid off. He’s fallen into the trap of over thinking the game
I’ll hold my hands up to that one: it was 1-1 when I had to go pick up my daughter and her mates from the flicks.
Agree with that SRR, but away from home at Forest we needed to play with a decent tempo and have a presence in midfield so wise not to play both. We totally did this and totally deserved to be winning at half time. They score and then make the 2 most ridiculous subs I have seen this season. Gave no opportunity for the team to respond. Yes go 2-1 down then make subs, but to think u can get away with those subs and get away with draw is farcical, had MW not watched Forest this season. Totally fxxcked off luckily off to get smashed at Cheltenham next 2 days so hopefully will have chilled by Sunday.! We couldn't afford to lose this game but MW contrived to do so
We were good first half. Forest and especially Spence were very good second half. Their equaliser was a ****ing worldy! Sometimes the will of the opposition means you lose. We were really under the cosh second half, although I think Warburton must take some responsibility for making a double substitution, replacing Amos and Dozzell with Johansen and Hendrick. I'd have just replaced Dozzell, who was one foul from a red card, with Johansen and left Amos on. When Marshall got injured, we could then have at least brought on another sub. Injuries were very unkind to us tonight. Willock was looking really good before he went off. Chair made a lovely assist for Gray's goal, but completely flattered to deceive after that. Their right wing back, Spence, was the best player on the pitch and scored a thunderbastard to equalise. Marshall, for once, apart from one dodgy moment was good and quite heroic after his injury, staying on to make some excellent saves. Oh and Amos missed an absolute sitter. Could have been 2 up at half-time. All in all, losing there, like that, isn't in any way a disgrace. I maintain that Warburton isn't quite up to it now the heat is really on.
Warburton isn't quite up to it now the pressure is really on imo. I would have replaced Dozzell with Johansen, but the double substitution was a big mistake.
2 keepers...??? What planet you on Ellers.. 4 keepers out injured. Dieng, Archer, Walsh and now Marshall. We are left with u23 Donelley...and I think we recalled Barnes. I think we can get an emergency loan...but who
Barnes recalled from loan so presumable will play with the wonderfully named Murphy Mahoney on the bench......
Does it have to be an EFL keeper...is that the rule ? Can it be done by Saturday...after that is the international break...and gives us a bit more time
