Is that the end of it ? Or released pending prosecution ? Amazing if it's just the former. And possibly because the world's eyes are on this story
I think that’s the end of it , I agree 100%. With your last comment ! It’s now changed a bit…….. from the bbc. It is not clear if she will face separate charges relating to her protest on live TV, and there had been fears she would be prosecuted under a more serious, new criminal law that bans calling Russia's military action in Ukraine an "invasion" or spreading "fake news" about the conflict.
I would be astounded if the Russian authorities just left it at a fine. As mentioned they might have done that initially because they know the world's media is watching But when it's out of sight a bit, they might come down on her like a ton of bricks.
I think they will do that anyway as a deterrent. The fine is from the video of just her , not the tv studio bit .
That's all very well. What the fck's it got to do with war! Invading my thread, fckin worse than the Ruskies. Stick it in the closed Labour thread!
Yeh... well I once rode the tram to Piccadilly with Andy Burnham. And it was magnificent. So fuhhhhhuuuuuccck you!
I watched the select committee regarding the refugees from Ukraine. I know, I know, not been too good and it requires no effort watching people drone on. Some of the points that came out of it, was that the whole committee, which included people such as Diane Abbott, agreed security checks need to be done, after what they called Russia's dirty bomb. The main argued points, very well put by Diane Abbott, was why chlldren and why people over a certain age, she referenced the age as '70' need to be checked - the response was, the whole family group is checked, starting with the adults, ie similar to safe guarding, who is the person with this child. As for the older age bracket ie 70+ the committe was reminded that Putin is coming up to his 70th birthday this year, evidence you can't not check someone based on age. The biggest argument point seemed to be around Ukranian refugees, and those crossing the Channel, referred to by one Tory MP as 'economic migrants.' Those crossing the channel are mainly men, and surely have to be a far greater risk than women and children from the Ukraine - argument being surely those that require the checks are the men crossing the channel as logic would have it, they pose the greater risk. I don't believe I heard a satisfactory answer in the difference between the two types of refugees. MI5 were mentioned, but that was more as a dismissal of them, in regards to what can they possibly have in regards to this situation. Talks of a visa free pathway for unaccompanied children, with the UK and EU working together. However, Ukraine will not consent presently to any unaccompanied children being permitted to go via such a route. Also in regards to threats from men, no men of a certain age bracket are allowed to leave the Ukraine, was it 16 - 60, I can't remember. No one has objections to unaccompanied children, but no requests have been received and as stated nor are permitted. Concerns raised around attempts to traffic children. I did see an press report several days ago, where two men had to be physically removed from a group of children at the border. Now a point @Treble made, by Tim Loughton Conservative MP, asking why we can't use the cargo planes to bring them back, and do the checks this end. I've bored you enough now.
"Allowed" to leave. I wonder how many have actually left though. I'd suspect some have escaped across the border and I'd also suspect some sensing the war may have left before the hostilities kicked off. They probably make up smaller numbers of total refugees though compared to women I'm sure.
Think it don't take much working out that some men would have just left, through whatever means or foresight in advance of what was to come, but as you say, they will be very small numbers.
The Ukrainians have put the cowards in Calais to shame. I've always maintained that they should stay in their countries and fight. No women or children but about 30 fighting age men in a boat. Get ****ed.
Wars eh, good reminders that the normal people ain't worth **** to the people making the decisions. Slaves basically, slaves to the decisions of others. Morning btw
Just off what Saff said about the cowards on boats. Why should fighting age men have to stay and die in a war they had no part in starting.? Avoiding unnecessary death makes them cowards? Thats why i said we are slaves to the decisions of others. You're free to Choose your job, who you ****, what you do in your spare time, but when the pigs in suits want a war all that freedom don't mean **** does it. Slaves
