This. I'm more nervous about this one than I am about Chelsea. Their fans will be more up for this than any match previously - they seem to think we're now THE most hated team, which is mental when you think about the owners of City, Chelsea and others. Blaming the club and its' fans for the wealthy backing, simultaneously ignoring the Ashley era or the fact our performances have come from cheaper players like Burn and Targett.
Does Everton's playing / coaching staff really hate Newcastle or is that just a perception being placed upon them by us?
Don't think the players/coaches give a stuff, but it helps your support when the "bad guys" come to town.
Take a draw and then a nice rest till 3rd of April. BTW Who have we got on international duty? Fraser maybe Schar Krafth Bruno Almiron Dubs Wood 5 starters, anyone else?
Frasers not been selected (good!). I'm just really looking forward to this. All the pressure is on them. I'm sure we will put in a solid enough performance and a if we win it will be a REALLY sweet one!
I want to be positive. But I think they will absolutely have a go against us. Be very interesting to see how Howe approaches this one.
I have confidence that if we go at them strong, make sure we keep up the high tempo, go in for challenges and knock them around a bit, Everton will withdraw into their shells. As they do. The only way to win games in the Prem, as our dear Eddie has proven is intensity and skill. Dyche knows this ****, don't matter about how good your players are, most of the teams are made up of pansies. Everton are grade A, pansies.
Willock is back Unlikely that Joelinton is or jonjo. Really could do with Joelinton to beast VDB again
Sounds like Joelinton is "touch and go" so they'll make a late assessment. Depends on whether they think it's worth risking him as its such a big game, or whether to give him an extended recovery period with the international break.
Dubz Manquillo-Schar-Burn-Targett Willock-Bruno-Longstaff Fraser-Wood-ASM Longstaff out for Joelinton if fit but either one of them on the left of the midfield 3 to compensate for ASM - need his attacking flair this week and to give their full back a reason to sit a bit deeper. Would really like Wood to not drop as deep and provide an out ball for us when we lump it long on clearances. If he can win flick on's on the half way like we can get further out and look to counter, get why he was dropping in vs Chelsea but our clearances were to no one and it was just coming back time and time again.
