Good Morning. It's Wednesday 16th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Phillips to assess his options in the Summer Several media sources, including the Daily Mail are insisting that England Midfielder Kalvin Phillips will reevaluate his options this Summer, as to whether he stays at Elland Road next Season. The 26yo has been part of the Leeds Utd set up for the last twelve years, and has matured into an England regular since winning promotion in 2020. Previously, Phillips has been quoted as saying that he wants to play at the highest level, in games that mean something, rather than just rack up appearances, but he also made it clear that he wanted to achieve this at Leeds. Unfortunately for Phillips (and us), the ER hierarchy made their intentions abundantly clear last Summer! please log in to view this image Raphinha contract talks go very quiet Contract talks with Raphinha, and his agent Deco have gone very quiet recently. The 25yo was set to pen a two-year extension, extending his stay in West Yorkshire to the Summer of 2026. Unfortunately, it looks like the Brazilian International has other ideas. Deco, is not only Raphinha's agent, but he is also the South American head scout for Barcelona. Recent reports have indicated that Barcelona have already held talks with Raphinha, and with a 65m release clause in his contract, the La Liga giants could be robbing Leeds of millions! please log in to view this image Rodrigo should be available for Wolves clash Rodrigo should be fine to play on Friday night at Molineux, after an update from Jesse Marsch. The 31yo was substituted after an hour on Sunday after complaining of a tight quad, an indication of a potential hamstring injury. It seems the switch was more as a precaution, than anything else. Marsch was quoted as saying:- “Rodrigo, will have to see. I think he had a little bit of tightness in his quad. I don’t think it would be classified as an injury, but we just have to see how he recovers over the next days.” please log in to view this image Augustin outcome could take months It could take months for the Court of Arbitration for Sport to conclude the Jean-Kevin Augustin debacle, according to Leeds journalist Adam Pope. Lawyers for Leeds Utd and RB Leipzig both stated their cases, and with over 18m at stake (spread over three payments of 6.2m, the outcome could have a detrimental effect on Leeds spending powers in the Summer, should the decision go against them. According to Popey:- “I understand that the CAS hearing is now complete and that a verdict is awaited,” “This can take anything up to a few months under the internal processes at CAS.” please log in to view this image
Good morning i have no idea why we signed fat Kev. Was his record that good?.. He is not even a good player. Anyway so we found out yesterday we were not finding out the verdict. Of course we won't yet it takes time to earn big money sitting on these commitees or whatever you call them. As for kalvin if he wants medal etc he will have to move. If we can get 50 million for him it's a steal. If raph wants to go then let him and use the fees to grow the squad. Players talk about loyalty and how they love the fans. Next minute they are leaving in the latest ferrari or porcshe. Get the tissues ready for when they leave as the next blubberfest is just months away.
Contract talks naturally hold during an uncertain end to the season. If we survive and invest heavily in the squad this summer, the likes of Raph and Phillips will more likely be happy to give one more year if they believe the club is heading for the top end of the table. Obviously that comes with the understanding that they be allowed to leave if things don't work out. If the recruitment is poor then they will look to leave ASAP. Obviously if we go down there will be a mass exodus especially since its a World Cup year.
Of the two of them I’d rather Phillips stayed than raph. But both are professionals and should be playing champions league. Emotive stuff aside, that’s the reality. No hard feelings if/when they go.
As Emu has said, everything depends on which league we’re in and if still in the Prem how ambitious we are in the tranny market. You all saw Phillips reaction after the Norwich match he was overjoyed. You all saw Raphinha doing his best and dont forget Phillips saying My Nana would kill me if I left here, so dont give a toss right now about what the papers say. Anyone interested in what Cody Drameh thinks should read this interview https://www.viewfromtheninian.com/2022/03/16/vftn-x-cody-drameh/
@Doc. Please stop using the term tranny market. I have all kinds of unsavoury imagery going on in my head. It's too much for a Wednesday morning.
Good Morning to Matt Doc WJ ETC from a dull Bardsey Just recived my new energy bill amd they had attampted to increase my payment from 96 per month to 300 I pointed out that i was aon a standard tariff which has a price cap of 1277 to April and then 1971 per annum from then on so I await what they have to saybut I am confident they will have to back down.I shall let you know How didthe under 23 go on last night Doc
Be careful 60 the cap of £1971 is based on average usage, use more than average and you pay more use less and you pay less Where the whole system falls down is using averages. They should be quoting kWh and std charges then easy to work out what you should be paying
Didn’t Radz say just before Xmas that in order to invest in the summer we would have to sell players, I read this as having to sell high value players Which in my book meant selling the heart of the club
Drameh is an interesting one to me. He is playing at lower championship level with Cardiff. Never got a sniff at leeds apart from once i saw him and he looked way below standard. I think he will be off in the summer to a championship side to increase his wages. Two more we have is bate and greenwood.both were ignored v naaarich at subs time. Instead klich was moved up and koch put in defensive mid area. If greenwood is good then why did he not go to 10.its a big step up from u23s to first team and not convinced any of these three will make it.
It was desperation. Bielsa scared off Nketiah, and Southampton had started to take the piss out of us with the amount of offers we were making for Che Adams.
My electric is going up 30% and i have already switched most things off. Got a throw if i get chilly and heat water for 30 mins now. Going to monitor my useage and see where else i can save money. All i see is greed and profiteering with everything going up.

Referee: Thomas Kirk Booked: Bate, Dean, Jenkins (Leeds) Hardley, Svidersky, Hannibal, Fernandez (Man Utd) Leeds United’s Under-23s put in a performance to remember under the lights at Elland Road, as they ran out comfortable winners over rivals Manchester United. The Whites were on top throughout in this Premier League 2 clash and secured an important three points, after goals from Stuart McKinstry, Max Dean and a long-range stunner from Archie Gray. When the match got started, Leeds were on the attack and nearly opened the lead inside the first 10 minutes. Firstly, McKinstry forced Ondrej Mastny into his first save of the night, before Sam Greenwood then shot over the bar when well placed. It would only be two minutes later before the Whites did open the scoring though, through McKinstry. After Crysencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood both had shots blocked, McKinstry was alert and finished brilliantly into the bottom corner to make it 1-0. Just five minutes later and with the 9,808 strong crowd inside Elland Road in excellent voice, Summerville came close to doubling the advantage with a clever chip over Mastny but his effort dropped just wide of the post. In a half dominated by Andy Taylor’s side for the majority, Dean had two chances to extend the lead but he couldn’t find the back of the net, once placing wide and the other forcing another good save. With just the one goal on the tally, Leeds had to be alert down the other end, and Kristoffer Klaesson was when called upon. Manchester United captain D’Mani Mellor called the stopper into action with him producing a wonderful save from the close-range shot. It wasn’t just Klaesson though who had to be on guard. Nohan Kenneh and Charlie Cresswell kept focused until the interval, as Kenneh made two important blocks to stop the away side equalising before the break, sending his own side in ahead at the whistle. HALF TIME: Leeds United 1-0 Manchester United Taylor made a change at the break and came sent out his team for the second half a goal ahead. Jamie Shackleton came off and was replaced by Kris Moore, in a straight swap on the right-hand-side of defence. It was the Reds who had the best chance early in the second period. Again, Klaesson produced another brilliant save to deny Shola Shoretire at close range on this occasion. On the hour mark in the match, the points were all but secured for the home side. Shortly after being introduced, Archie Gray pressed the defence of the visitors and won the ball back, Greenwood picked it up and squared for Dean to strike a composed finish into the bottom corner to make it two. Leeds were now well in control the and the crowd were still in fine voice around Elland Road. They saw that their team were battling and continuing to put in a solid display, searching for more, and that constant effort would be rewarded. Two goals would soon become three, with a similar combination to the second. This time it was Dean with the pressing and he forced a mistake from Mastny in the Manchester United goal. Gray was the beneficiary, picking the ball up 40 yards from goal and unleashing a long-range strike which found the back of the net to make it three! Both sides had chances as the game entered the final few minutes but there were no further goals. An important three points were added to the tally of Leeds United Under-23s and they were thoroughly deserved. Next up for Taylor’s side is a trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, where they will face Chelsea, who are now five points below them in the table after this thumping success over Manchester United. FULL TIME: Leeds United 3-0 Manchester United
Sorry Mike I didnt wTch the 23s last night as not well enough at the moment. I have however watched the highlights and read reports. McKinstry had his best ever game, Max Dean was great, Nohan Kenneh awesome and MoM. cresswell brilliant, Summerville and Greenwood top performers. Lew Bate did well but got injured
kp’s a Leeds fan and a Leeds player - of course he’s delighted. I’m sure his first choice would be champions league with Leeds - but that’s a pipedream for now. Raphinha will go, kp might stay imo. For their careers they should both go, and we should use the significant capital to replace them with younger talent and then use the excess to strengthen the whole squad.
