I think we could carry on playing until midnight without Barnsley players and still not score.. I've just wasted 2 hours of my life!!
This was as wretched a performance as I can remember in a long time, and that’s some statement as there have been may low points in this, and last season!! Even worse when the opposition are bottom 3. We cannot defend for toffee .
Reading had better watch out ... is Derby about to get their just deserts! ... Had they took the hit last season [ hindsight] probably won the Div 1 or auto ! 2 more injuries or is it 3 I note from text .......
A steaming pile of dog ****. Atkinson was shocking. James looks like an ageing pub player smoking 50 a day. I had to be reminded that Massengo was actually playing in the 2nd half. Martin was poor all game and Semenyo has the look of a 20mil player believing the BS hype some shocking decision making and sorry to be so brutal but maybe it's time to pay Williams off, he is obviously a talented player but his injuries woes cannot be allowed to go on. Wells again was no threat. The stats are incredibly interesting and a classic example that you need to actually watch the game to know whats what, Barnsley only led on shots on target and corners.
Actually thought Massengo was one of our better players along with Semenyo... But I agree Martin was very poor, Atkinson & James way below expectations.....and Weimann looked right out of place at RWB.. There was a couple of times he pointed to Scott to cover while he drifted centrally.. All felt out of balance along with really poor distribution and passing...Poor all-round including setup and tactics..
there really does not seem to be any consistency with how we line up ... just how besotted is NP with his irrational idealism have a bad one "then expect to be on the sidelines" ... it encourages him to play players out of position [ to see if after 4 or more up to 10!? ] they might play a better game ... sort of variations on round .peg square hole ....oblong peg in square hole or oval hole ... mix them up yourself... round hole/square hole/ oblong hole/ oval hole/ even round peg in trapezoid hole etc!!! He is the current manager, and gets support but I am beginning to think there is something not quite right ................ maybe SL should have a word with Claudio?
For once I actually agree with most of this post. We have the players we have, whoever is the manager has to make the most of the players at his disposal, I’m not convinced Nige is tbh. I like how honest he is at post match interviews, so he is obviously aware of the issues, but he doesn’t seem able to fix them.
I see it differently, all I hear is it's not my fault. He has decided to cast certain players adrift in this squad, so he has to live with the consequences. He has had some bad luck with injuries, but so did Holden and Johnson before him, and not many on here cut them any slack and said all teams have this issue, so it's no different for Pearson. For me, I don't think Pearson has the hunger for football anymore, or at least not in the current financially restricted world below the Premiership. I hate to say this, truly I do, but Warnock would have had the hunger and passion to turn us around, and I don't think we would be in this mess with him managing. If it's possible on last night's evidence, the football would be almost certainly less palatable though.
I agree with most of that, apart from the Warnock bit.. not sure if he would have the hunger for the task required at ours.. What I don't rate regarding NP is his tactics and I'm not sure about his selection policy, having said that, it has been nice seeing some of the youngsters involved, whether that was forced upon him or choice.. But anyone that used to say LJ was streaky.....please inform me what we have now!!
I agree with you he doesn’t accept responsibility, which annoys me no end, but he is honest in his appraisal, which was fine at first, but now it isn’t acceptable because he isn’t fixing the problems.
Boys i was fuming after watching that **** show-hope the broom is big enough to clear the dross out. Oh and Williams has to go a total liability cannot play two games in a row. NP inherited the majority of this squad-clearly knows they are not good enough-however can't come out and say it in public. It would not matter who was managing the **** show it is a very poor squad of players.
Sorry RR, you can’t have it both ways. Win and NP is a Genius, Lose and the broom needs to come out Cus the players are crap. His selections and tactics must come into question as well.. Saturday shows even more that we were lucky to get that win, last night showed how wrong his tactics are.. His tactics have been suspect since he’s been here imo.. You keep saying that he needs to have a clear out, I think our decent players won’t want to hang around either and I can see that money and ambition will talk.. Daja vu.. The longer this goes on the more I’m convinced he’s more of a DOF than coach..
RR a downs league team could defend corners & crosses better than we do, that’s not just down to players. Last night we were poor, but apart from set plays Barnsley we’re no better. Seriously I think even the Gas would give us a run for our money at present.
100% agree here. The setup was a joke, although as @Redprintt correctly points out, that wasn't the reason we conceded the 2 goals, but it is the reason we conceded so much space to Barnsley. We got away with a poor performance at Blackburn, so he went with the same setup, but either fitness or desire isn't there for 2/3 games in a week. This comes to down in part to coaching, and NP and CF simply have not been good enough this season.
So please explain how can NP do the job the players should be doing on the pitch-you cross the white line you as a player have your responsibilities and duties. These players cannot do the basics as NP has already said.
You were quick enough to blame LJ and DH for not being able to coach players properly, but not the same rules for NP. Come on! Pearson has to realise he is in the Championship now, not the PL, the players are not as good, so they will need better coaching, and I don't see NP and his team being the right people for the task tbh. I think his time at BS3 is about done.
Basically, with what ever players we’ve had over the past six years, the coaching, tactics etc haven’t improved overall.. there’s been a few entertaining games, as was with LJ, but most, as RP would quote have been “tough” and I’d say frustrating to watch.. Imo, NP has a bit of time, the rest of this season and a summer to sort it out, first dozen games next season will see where we’re at.. no improvement I believe will lose the fans.. excuses are wearing thin.. I know few on here will laugh and disagree but I actually think, tactically on the pitch, LJ was a better coach in this modern game..
