Oh for sure. But I think that group of players is only out for one thing, and that's playing for themselves, regardless of who is their manager.
Oh **** off Chelsea. Chelsea want FA Cup tie with Middlesbrough to be played behind closed doors - BBC Sport
I do think they should be able to sell tickets still though and just either make it so that the money from sales goes to a good cause or is put purely toward the running of the club. Theres no way Middlesbrough should have any sort of limitation because of the Chelsea owner though so that is a ridiculous request.
Lol The Middlesborough Chairman doesn't sit on the fence either: Middlesbrough said they will challenge the "bizarre" and "ironic" request "in the strongest possible terms". Championship club Middlesbrough added the request - made by Chelsea "for matters of sporting integrity" - was "without any merit whatsoever". Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson told The Athletic: "Chelsea and sporting integrity do not belong in the same sentence. "Where is the intellect of Bruce Buck, the chairman of Chelsea, who has been an apologist for his owner, where the trophies won over 19 years have come from the corrupt money provided by Abramovich?" Gibson added. "Where is the intellect of the chairman of Chelsea when it comes to playing his games at home in front of his season-ticket holders? Does he want to play all his away games at empty stadiums? "Abramovich has been kicked out of football and Bruce Buck should be kicked out of football too."
"Constructive talks with the FA" ie The FA told Chelsea where to go, so to try and save face Chelsea announce they're withdrawing their request.
Surely their thinking behind that request was to put pressure on the gov regarding the ticket situation? I can't believe that they seriously thought such a request would be considered.
Am I the only one who think the government have been lenient with Chelsea letting them continue? The bottom line is that they have had 19 trophies in 19 years on the back of an influx of corrupt and dirty money. Just because it is a football club it doesn't matter. Maybe I am missing something here? I would feel the same if it was us by the way.
Wrong thread, I know, but if the government shut down Chelsea FC for accepting corrupt and dirty money, then they would have to shut down the Tory party. They wouldn’t want to set a precedent.
The list of things this government has done that you would think would lose them voters is rather long. I’m not counting on any actually applying when the time comes. But this is not the thread
I've just watched Manure and A Madrid second half. At least twice Madrid players went down with non existant head injuries forcing the ref to stop the game. This trend was evident from Watford on Sunday. This means that players in the guise of 'Professionalism' are in fact being unprofessional; sooner or later a ref will be blamed because he/she will have become fed up with the newest form of play acting to waste time, and a serious injury will be missed. May be the solution is to remove anybody claiming and/or suffering for a minimum of 10 minutes. It might be players will try to play on with a head injury rather going off for a period, but this makes it the player's responsibility rather than the ref's. Putting the responsibility were it belongs. Any thoughts?
