They are still crossing (not Ukranians) - been crosssing every week of the new year where poss. It's well over 2,000 refugees for 2022 I think.
nah they are not white and not christian so in that case they are illegal immigrants who should use the , pretty much , non existent legal routes to apply for asylum .
I was starting to doubt my own beliefs after all these years, where I believed it was always the men that stayed to fight, and the women and children sought refugee status. Ukranians regained me confidence in my beliefs.
tbf if you live somewhere like Eritrea it will often be the men fleeing as they have to do long service in the army where lots are used as basically slave labour and treated as such though it also makes a good reason for those who are "just" economic immigrants .
We were having a convo about Oil, fuel and public transport the other day. This is an example of what I was talking about about how we need to make Public Transport more affordable and accessible Well done Andy Burnham please log in to view this image
Just been listening to that story on the radio. Massive courage to do that. Already though, her lawyer can’t locate her in any police stations
Just seen now that she's tweeted that she'd been released under house arrest facing prosectution. Time to flee the country I reckon.
What a strange world Some families being blown to pieces by Russian shells and missiles, whilst others are blubbing coz they can't use Instagram
I was going to add that I doubt things will go well for her. I don't know what I'd do tbh, I used to be the guy who stood up, only to find everyone else sat down.
She's looking at 10-15 years in some putrid hell hole of a prison. I'd be getting the **** out of there personally.
This needs to be done in every city in Britain. Manchester has trams as well, which are also as cheap as ****, run on time, and get you to all the city centre places you need to. It's an excellent system. Where I live now it costs about £4.50 to get to a town with no ****ing decent shops and back. No wonder people would rather take the car. I'd use public transport and save the pissing about with paying for parking all the time if it was any good. They've just built three new multi story car parks so clearly have no intention of improving public transport much. Can't not have a car though, I'm site based and need to drive to it. Soz and that.
Defo needed in all towns and cities. I remember growing up in London when Ken Livingstone was mayor (first time around) and he introduced the ‘fares fair’ scheme. Flat rate on all buses no matter if it was one stop or the whole journey. Cheap as chips. and yeah, people will still need to use cars, so it’s not an all or nothing situation. It just needs to be thought out a bit smarter in terms of one person travelling in a car to work every day to the same destination, multiplied by how many hundreds of thousands of people do that on the daily.
