I've not been brave enough to visit this thread since the match. I haven't read any of it yet as living through it once at St.Marys was enough. Such a terrible perfomance in every way. Only KWP comes out of it looking good. That man is easily player of the season and is well overdue a song, he has been brilliant, consistently brilliant in multiple positions for two seasons now and is the only one performing with urgency and skill even when the rest of the team are utter turd like they were on Sunday. Really couldn't believe how bad we were throughout. So frustrating the way we flip flop from fantastic (before these 3 defeats) to relegation standard, can't pass, control the ball or even show much fight or urgency for seemingly no reason. The only positives to be taken from Sunday were KWP is a god and thank goodness I don't have to do another match thread.
The song will probably be; Kyle walker peters baby. Kyle walker peters- oooh ooooh I think Stuart Armstrong needs a song/chant.
Kyle Walker Peters does fit Guantanemera Then thanks to the Robster there’s always He’s Stuart Armstro-ong Armstro-ong, Armstro-o-o-ong
I've just seen the handball shout we had towards the end. How is that not a penalty FFS? His arm was above his head.
this is paraphrasing the Celtic song for him, to the tune of Enola Gay apparently... "Oh Ralph H said: "We’ve got to play him on right side mid", Oooooh words can’t describe, When we see him in the red and white, His hair is fine, He scores belters all the time. That’s why we'll sing this song, For Stuart Armstrong!"
TBH it's annoying but we didn't deserve a point anyway so meh. Need a good referee and VAR on Sunday though.
Yeah I saw a clip of it too (only thing I've watched back since) and I don't really understand how it's not a penalty? However I have no idea what the rules are for penalty handballs these days since they seem to change so regularly. His arm was straight up in the air and prevented a header from our player going towards the goal. It was really close to him and he had his back to it but I don't know if it has to be 'deliberate' anymore. Not that we deserved the chance to get back in the game granted but still don't understand why VAR looked at it and said no.
Because it came off his head while he was looking the other way and had no idea where it would go. Nearly every player had their arms up a bit cos that is what you do when you jump for the ball.
I Stand to be corrected but I think the current rule is that a handball is unlikely if it hits the arm off of another part of the body
It is very arguable, if the action of the handball denies a goal scoring opportunity (i.e. Bed could have scored with a header if the ball hadn't be diverted) then it could be considered a foul, if the hand was in a natural position, it wouldn't have made contact. If it had been a top team it would probably have been given!
I was never a big fan of Dylan, but I will let you off as you have put me on to a couple of good bands that I would not have come across myself. The Dead South and Old Crow Medicine Show. Better stop talking about music on the match day thread though .
