Many, though certainly not all, of the folk who make up this majority of Scotlandâs population, support Rangers. They, and their club, were the BBC targets last week. I think we can safely leave BBC Scotland to Carter Ruck. In the meantime let us turn our attention to another media outlet, the Herald, which often gives the impression of being BBC Scotland in print. It is therefore little wonder that the Herald, which once catered for the mainstream of the nation and sold 120,000 daily, now struggles to stay above 40,000 as it panders to the zealots and activists among the minority. On the day when a Celtic fan who launched a thuggish attack on a Hearts steward escaped jail and was handed a paltry slap on the wrist fine , there was no outrage in the Herald about soft touch justice Scotland. Indeed you had to go through the paper to find the tiny coverage. Not so the latest rant about same sex marriage from Bishop Tartaglia. News is something new and what he said was hardly that. But the Herald gave the story great prominence. The same was the case of a so called exclusive by Gerry Braiden, which alleged Roman Catholics were being insulted on Facebook. But you had to sift deep inside the paper and be eagle-eyed to spot a single paragraph about the new Moderator of the Church of Scotland. Clearly the Herald would prefer us not to know about the latest near free ride handed to a Celtic thug. Or the new leader of Scotlandâs national church, the Kirk. What a pain in the tits, I've got "Font Finder" for Firefox, but because the font being plagiarised is on a picture, it wont ****in read it
