No idea why your on about. Freeze it at 48 seconds. As diaz heads the ball Sanchez is already off the floor and leg halfway up. don’t know what you mean he takes a step to the right as that just doesn’t happen? When contact is made, yes the ball is gone. But it’s about 0.2 seconds after the ball is gone. Not like the ball is gone and 2 seconds later he comes in and kicks him in the chest.
If you look at the bt footage you will see sanchez take that step as the ball is played. He mis read the ball and in the video about you see he never has a hope of blocking the ball. It doesn't matter (in the rules) where his body is when the ball passes him. The rules are clear here. He's put of control and smashed his opponent with a knee to the chest. He's got no chance of the ball and make zero attempt to pull out. It's excessive force and dangerous play. Most of all though, from Brighton point of view his positioning is absolutely **** as he's not line line with ball and goal but is off to one side as its played. **** keeping. Nasty, dirty follow through Completely deliberate
If he was remotely near the ball and hadn't kneed Diaz in the chin, that would be fine. I'll repeat, he was no where near the ball, there was no attempt to play the ball and he endangered the opponent. I really don't get what you're seeing different tbh
So he takes a step right before diaz even gets close to the ball? Not sure how that is relevant to whether he is actually trying to block it or not then given about 5 seconds passes from then and it’s a whole different situation?
1, he doesn’t knee him in the chin. His inner thigh catches his chest. 2, he’s about 6 inches away from the ball. I’d say ‘no where near is a bit of an exaggeration’. If you freeze it at the moment diaz heads it, he’s about a yard away from the player where you’d expect a keeper to be trying to block it. 3, he’s trying to block it and make a save. Not sure how that isn’t trying to play the ball?
Why are so many of you intent on changing IBWT opinions He doesn’t think it’s a red Why do you want him to turn round and change his mind Genuine question ? It’s his opinion so it can’t be wrong
Probably pointless to theorise and shouldn't make a difference, but I bet a red and penalty would have been given if Diaz's goal didn't go in. I suspect ref didn't want to slap them with a red AND a goal. (Shouldn't make a difference but I bet it did)
I’m used to being an outcast Lmao As I keep saying I think it’s a red in todays game but totally understand what IBWT is saying lol
With how recent decisions have gone with us I reckon if it hadn’t gone in nothing would have happened other than a goal kick lmao
Don't want to change opinion par se. Just want to state the facts. It's not at the waist. It's not an honest effort at the ball It's not pulling out. The ball was long gone. Tbh at first glance I thought OK **** happens it's be a bit harsh to red it but in the very first replay it for me is ironed on red and the actual angles available show why the keeper is out of position and then does the dirt.
Surely the fact is It wasn’t a red Anyway have far to much respect for you guys on here so not saying anymore cause I don’t even have a dog in the race on this one
Well that is true. It is a fact that, through the ref and var incompetence, (and sanchez' faux concern for his victim ) it wasn't a red. Incidentally I beleive this keeper has form for this sort of stuff as well.
Just to smear the lads reputation more He did similar going for the man v Newcastle when he has no chance of the ball and got sent off. Maybe he thinks he can put someone off or whatever. But equally recently he and Duffy had a stand up roe over an incident so there's also a red mist there so he could easily have known the ball was gone and just did it anyway. Tbh I've known a ball was gone and could have avoided an opponent and have not just cos so I can see why this is entirely possible.
