Always liked Everton, got a few blue noses as mates. Always preferred them to Candleight Vigil FC. They are far too good to go down but that means nowt of course. They are in massive trouble

They paid Wimbledon to take a dive, they deserve their justice.

As **** as it sounds, Everton getting relegated wouldn't bother me. Club that's done nothing for years and up until recently, benefited because of Geography. Liverpool,Man U and City players would sign for them without having to move house. I still think they'll be OK, points are always better on the board but they have 3 games in hand around people around them so it's up to them if they stay up or go down. I personally think they'll beat Newcastle.

    alwayslurkeduntilnow

I was there with my Dad. I was at university in Liverpool and he came over for the weekend and we decided to go watch the game, both as neutrals but in the Everton end so sliding on the home team.

Parked the car near the stadium where 3 local 8 year old assured us they would "look after your car mate" while we were in the ground. Fee paid we headed to Goodison.

"Can I come in with you mate" called a young scally as he crawled by my legs going through the turnstiles. In those days it was benched or standing without seat numbers so actual attendance was guess work, or at least in the parts of the stadium we ever went in.

At half time Wimbledon were two up and cruising, Everton were a shambles, the crowd were in abject misery, relegation loomed. Step forward one man, Wimbledon goalkeeper Hans Segers, bung allegedly already agreed was determined not to see the blue half of Liverpool suffer and took it upon himself to deny the travelling away fans the memory of relegating a team in their own stadium.

Sagers made some fine saves, but it wasn't right, I remember walking out the stadium with my Dad, discussing how we had clearly seen a fixed match. Everton fans coming out elated, greatest comeback, blue heroes but me and my Dad were neutrals we knew what we had seen.

Soon after Sagers paid £19,000 cash into his local bank.
