I saw them when they played in Trafalgar Square for Nelson Mandela day in 2001. They were pretty good
Saw them at the Palatrussardi in Milan in about 89. They were great, despite the barn like venue. I have a strong preference for their early, spiky stuff, not that the rest is bad, but there is just so much of it. Also saw James Brown at the same venue, but it’s not fair to compare.

Glory Box has to be one of my all time favourite songs, in the original version (though live even better), Lisa Hannigan’s cover which is just about a homage but her voice is as stunning as Beth Gibbons’ but in a different way, and John Martyn’s version who took the basics and made it something else, never the same twice.

First saw REM at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1985, supporting U2 before Bono became a ****. Seen REM at least three more times since, Glastonbury, T in the Park, and their own headline show at Loch Lomond. Stipe is fantastic. We went to see Massive Attack a couple of years ago on the Mezzanine anniversary tour - Liz Frazer guested on a couple of tracks....not the greatest footage, but was a great experience
I'm just in from seeing Tom McGuire and the Brassholes - I hadn't even heard of them until this morning, Mrs had been given the tickets for her birthday and forgotten all about them. Venue was The Old Fruitmarket, in the Merchant City area of Glasgow, a beautiful venue... Went with no expectations of the band, and was very pleasantly surprised. Funk, soul blues - lots of audience participation, including crowd surfing on an inflatable pizza slice! Would definately go see them again.
Lucky bastard - but you're an old fudder I had tickets to see them at Earls Court in 94, and ****ing Princess ****ing Anne decided to come visit my base and all leave was cancelled - hated the Royal Family ever since
