I think the decisions can go either way,... thats all. stoke feel hard done by and i know we would had the roles been reversed. Perhaps that one is kennys bit of luck back? I will maintain that we didn't take our good chances and were 1-0 down before squarez fired in a beauty. Thats getting out of jail in my book... but then i'm nevr happy until we're 2-0 up anyway and killing the opposition. for the reocrd. 1. Utd, we were neither lucky nor unlucky there, we both cancelled each other out inthe first half and we didn't really look on top of our game. We got the lead then squandered it on bad defending. 2. Norwich. We missed a shed laod of chances but got lucky wit hte bounce of the all for our gaol with both a bounce ff a defender to bellamy then also a deflection, we again failed to capitalise and flogged another goal via reina. I don't really think we were unlucky there, we played for about half each game well and should have got more goals but wasted chances. we then flogged goals... very similar to sunderland where flanagan got it wrong and larsoon then had a free go and produced a great volley.... very similar to the pen carragher give stoke inthe league match too. Its just my opinion but the only game i felt we had "bad luck" was the spurs match, we turned up out of sorts and got a really bad ref who waved cards around for not much. that can happen. we were also stupid there too though. All in all if we can get the intensity levels to be consistent for 90mins we will create our own luck... Utd are called jammy all the time but you know what they play with the same intensity all the time. ergo... we played with decent intensity in parts but we gave them a lead so in the end we got out of jail last night. Our season will be defined by our ability to; a) get more shots/header on target properly b) our defense cutting out the mistakes c) keep the work ethic up for the full 90. All in all i think thats fairly reasonable to say, hard to deliver but reasonable to want. After all its what kenny wants and is building to!
MITO, we would all love to see us take every chance but when you create more chances than you allow the opposition then usually you have deserved your win, pullis even said they were lucky to be 1-0 up at HT and liverpool deserved the win. You just need to stop reading wilfred owen while listening to morrisey.
Seriously though, MITO is an engineer and highly analytical in his approach and delivery. Sometimes he may appear a little dour, but I'm sure he's not really
so...... tickle my funny bone then already? go on cheer me up. beating west brom 4-0 would cheer me up but thats the weekend!
We won, it was away from home, we came from behind for the first time for ages, Suatez scored and Bellamy hit the post, apart from a major blip, Coates looked like a player at CB, we didn't play Sktrtle at full back, and Kenny had a big smile on his face at the end. For one game at least it's Ian Drury time "Reasons To Be Cheerful - Part 1"
i just saw the suarez goal, the sort of goal messi would be proud of, what a player LFC have there he's not just someone who only contributes to attacking play either, he harries opponents and scores all types of goals, a snip at £22m. with a midfield of bellamy / downing, adam, lucas, kuyt, and gerrard and suarez up front that is some team kenny is building!
i watched suarez's goal several times again on you tube before i made my comments really sweet...... what would cheer me up more would be squarez doing that to make roy rub his face a bit this weekend.... and a 4-0.... in fact i think i need a 5 win in a row run to cheer me up and here i thought someone would tell a joke.....
Aftenoon Liverpool fans.. Nah, I didn't think you were lucky at all.. as I said, HOW we were one up at half time.. I'll never know. A great header but you should have scored at least two goals before then. Afterwhich, Suarez? the best player i've seen at our place this season by a mile. His running off the ball, his goal for me was so far goal of the season. Yep, the ref was dodgy but for both sides. What's new there we get em most weeks and every team get's good/bad decisions either way and we live with it. If Messi had scored your first goal, the world would have gone on for weeks about how great it was. I was right behind Sorro's left hand post..he had no chance of saving that strike.. K.D. was right to praise the lad, brilliant performance from him. Not lucky just better than my team Stoke.. well done and I wish you all the best for the cup and the League. TAKE more of your chances and you can beat ANY side IMO. Just a point about Andy Carroll?? He didn't look worth the x millions he cost but Suarez must be bloody priceless if he continues to play like that.
well differing opinions is the story. I still think we are lucky beacuse we didn't take our chances then went 1-0 down and got back into it on suarez's genius. Others think we were unlucky to not have scored before stoke ever did which is fair enough. i just felt it's a pattern emerging Still.... I'd love to have seen that strike live and am grateful for the compliments to our player from potter. this weekend becomes a big test for us, it another away game and our past record away generally is poor and we've to shake off the chances going awry ANd hopefully the goals against too. west brom are picing it up big time i tnhe past couple of weeks so like i said a 4-0 to us would make me VERY happy.
That's good of you. The last time I was in Cardiff was about 3 years ago. I couldn't believe the number of Liverpool shirts I saw around the place. I felt at home
liverpool shirts in cardiff thats not a posotive thing away to liverpool next round that would be splendid
Chris, As I said above, I was in the home end last night.. just behind that left hand post.. NO CHANCE any keeper would have saved it. I honestly think it will be Goal of the Season.. I very much doubt there will be a better more skillful individual goal scored this season. The amount of curl on the shot was brilliant. YOU cerainly have a very special player. Although we lost, it was a pleasure too watch him play last night.
Agreed Potts, Suarez is a very good player, however (sorry Liverpool fans but I must be honest) his diving and play acting really gets on my nerves. So yes very good player but equally a player I just don't like. I am not wishing to start an argument, it is just my opinion.
