I’d take Davy’s bet. 10 year olds record in the Festival Grade 1s over 3 miles+ is dire. Since 2003 104 x 10 year olds have tried and the win % is zero. In the last 24 Stayers Hurdles 43 have tried with the same result. A lay all day and twice on Sunday
Hard to argue with those stats really Chan - although we have seem some big stats blown at the festival in the last few years (a novice winning the Gold Cup and a 5 year old winning the Champion Hurdle)
yes indeed and Mullins getting horses in the winner's enclosure first time out. I know they’re scoffed at sometimes by the purist but i do think some stats are worth considering to thin the fields out at the big meetings.
Alan King states that The Glancing Queen will be Plate bound, re the Festival, as it looks far easier (off 141) than the Mares Chase. He claims she could run an absolute stormer in the latter contest 'and only finish 5th or 6th'. Is now being trimmed ('blue' in places on Oddschecker) re the Plate and is, currently, 3rd fave at a best priced 9/1.

After the 6 day entries Swinging London is #24 and Dr T J Eckleburg #26 so fingers crossed they will both get in (max field size 22). Fil D'Or still engaged here but likely to go Triumph.
I have been looking the horses that have been left and comparing them with the entries for the Triumph and the only one that is clear for me to go there is Fil Dor, I hope I have missed someone else.
Good-soft all over with the possibility of watering. Some showers possible Friday (but only 2-4 mm) and dry thereafter.
Anyone seen the breeding of the unraced, in the NH sphere, 5YO mare (Night And Day, what a lovely name for a mare by the way) that WP, I say WP, Mullins has left in the Mares Novices'??? In my opinion eye-catching and notable. She is a half-sister to Supasundae (peak rated 164, Cheltenham Festival victor and 3 time Grade 1 winner over hurdles) and the old girls dam is a half-sister to Nathaniel (King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Eclipse winner). Owned by the Munir / Souede axis and odds of 33/1 are still available (NRNB, of course).
Albert Bartlett [Friday] Freedom To Dream Each Way @ 100-1 [Betfred] 4 places NRNB Could be an interesting under the radar Irish outsider
Same trainer and owner as Suprise Package. Did you place your bet today? I was looking just after the race and the most I saw was 50/1 with bet365.
Forgive me, as I have been looking his odds for the Martin Pipe I got confused. 100/1 NRNB is a great bet but I think they are inclined to try to run on the Martin Pipe (if get in). I'm thinking about backing him there as it's the only race I want to bet on that I've got pending.
